The metal mesh around the light is very durable . It hangs so we actually used it atop my son's work desk in his school room. It gives a great amount of light exactly where he needs it. I hired someone to install it but it was pretty simple and easy for him. The light is super good quality and at an affordable price. It will spruce up any space you decide to use it in. I highly recommend. We get so many compliments on it. I'm a very happy customer indeed.

I installed it over my kitchen island and was able to do so in less than 20 minutes. You can tell by the material and weight of the product that it is a high-quality and durable lighting fixture.
