A: I just bought this, and the food containers are plastic not cardboard. They are hollow and have lids. (I have the shopping cart too, and that came with the cardboard ones)

A: Anything you move over the scanner will make the beeping noise.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Melissa & Doug checkout lane
Received clearly used. Missing all of the hardware and pieces were dinged. Dealt with customer service for 2 weeks trying to get hardware AND a missing part. Was told I can either receive 15% off the item and deal with the missing part or I can return the item to the store and get a refund. I can't put the item together without the essential missing part so I guess I'm returning to the store. Extremely disappointed in product quality AND the level of customer service I received.

This target check out is super cute! Got for my daughters 9th birthday. I will say it takes a good few hours to put together, but once you start going it's pretty simple. The only thing that sucked is paying almost $200 for this is that it came chipped. It's very good material but being chipped already out of the box was disappointing. All in all, the cutest buy for my girl and her little sis!

Complicated but fun, fun, fun!
Let me say — this thing is awesome and realistic. But after two hours of assembling it, I’m fairly sure I’m certified to assemble a real Target cash register at any US store. By the time you’re done with it, you will not want to play Target store with your child. And if you buy this for Christmas, don’t wait until Christmas Eve to put it together. You’ll cry. Otherwise, super fun, could use a little more play money and probably worth the hassle.

Dirty items found in box
I opened the box to find that the items were likely returned- pieces were dirty and I even found soiled toys. I’m extremely disappointed…this isn’t what I expected from target.

I bought this for my 4.5 & 2.5 yr old grandkids, but if I’m being 100% honest, I really wanted to play with it lol! I cannot stress enough how AWESOME this is!!! I’m a 46 yr old Gen X’er and I would’ve just died to have something this fun when I was a kid growing up! My daughter is just as excited as I am about it too bc let’s be real, who WOULDN’T want a Target checkout lane to play with lol! This comes with so much fun stuff for the kids to scan and play with. It even comes with play money, plastic coins and bills, and a plastic Target Red Card. My daughter and SIL were able to assemble it easily enough but it does take some time. I 100% recommend this interactive imagination learning toy!
