Finished this desk and this is my 2nd review.
I completed the first review as I as working on it. I need to call Sauder to get a couple a #5 cam that was not in the box. Also, If you are not willing to take a lot of time to put this together don't buy it. It is a small desk, should not have taken any time but screw holes not in the right location, poor instructions. Now that the desk is completed, drawers in (top drawer is very small) and last thing is the keyboard drawer. At the very end the last piece that goes together is the keyboard tray. Went together easy, instructions simple, product is nice rich looking walnut, Love it! Problem, the screw holes for the slides that are already in place several steps before are screwed in the wrong place because that's where the screw holes are located. So what I have to do is go under the desk with a light source and unscrew the slides and then screw them back into the right location. I would say I spent 8 hours putting this thing together and still I can't get the keyboard drawer in the desk unless I take out the slides and try to figure out where they need to go. Very frustrating. I would not recommend this to a friend unless you have a lot of time, don't mind guessing and hoping the screw holes are in the right place. Also had a problem with 2 wood dowels not having a hole at all.

Not exactly what I expected
The materials are nice quality. The color of the desk is rich and matches the rest of my furniture in the office. I like the desk. The instructions to put it together are not great. The illustrations could of been better. For example the brace bar it was hard to tell which side went up. A sticker that said place up would of been nice. Some of the screw drill holes were not in the right place for the drawer slides. There were 1 missing cam #5 and 2 dowels that had no holes at all. on a side panel. I have pu t together a lot of furniture and one thing that I noticed about this instruction booklet, illustrations' of the items in the box are good down to the size of the screwdriver. The pages have short instructions which helps to feel like I am making progress, but it would really really be nice if you titled the instruction pages such as Drawer, Hutch. In other words I did not know what I was putting to gether and in my mind I need to know that so I know its looking the way it should look. Also the hutch part, why can't the instruction book say, screw this brace in the 4 hole with # ... screw? INstructions could have been better. Putting holes in right places could have helped. This little desk took me more time to put it together than anything I have ever put together from Walker Edison. They do a great job on th eir instruction booklets. I would recommend this desk for the looks, the quality of the components. Sturdy and works well in a small space.
