Kichler Lighting Serca 3 - Light Flush Mount in Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kichler Serca 3-Light 18" Black Incandescent Flush Mount Ceiling Light looks like a modern replacement for the old gaudy gold and glass ceiling lights from the 90's (and older). Unfortunately, it is way bigger than I expected and is too large to fit in the area I planned to replace an ancient ceiling light. The location was going to be at the top of the stairs, but it just will not work there due to its sheer size. Aesthetically, it would look like a giant tractor beam shining down on those using the stairs. I would recommend using lower wattage lights inside (since there are three) to keep the light from being too intense. It would also get in the way for taller people since we have a low ceiling hallway. I wish we had a better location to use it, but the layout of the house lighting doesn't offer another central location that would work. I'd love to see this in a smaller size, as it would be easier to install. Inside the light, you need to have three medium base E26 bulbs (up to 60W), which are not included. The light size is pretty massive: 18" deep and 5.75" tall. All and all, this is a very sleek and modern light that would do well to brighten up a large room.

No problems at all! I like that it holds 3 bulbs. It gives off lots of good light. It is one of my favorite lights ever!! Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light is bigger than I anticipated and puts out quite a bit of light I installed it at the bottom of my stairs in the basement.. install was pretty easy and straightforward the only downfall was the five little screws that hold the diffuser to the light fixture but other than that it’s a great light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked out this light for my son's bedroom to upgrade to a more modern look, and also that his sibling's bedroom fan has the same shape/coloring. I am very pleased with how the light looks in his room! It clearly has a high quality construction like all Kichler products, and I appreciated that I could use my own light bulbs to choose how bright it would be. There are some exposed rivets/screws to add a slightly industrial look, but it is sleek at the same time. The diffuser on the bottom helps to create a smooth light (I used a flash in one photo to show the placement of the three bulbs in the light). However - I had to remove one star as the instructions were confusing and installation was not very smooth on this light. As a DIY'er the installation was frustrating. My spouse had a hard time getting the bracket to attach correctly to our light box, and the instructions were confusing pertaining to how much exposed screw should be left. With patience and trying on repeat, we got it to go up and are very happy with the light. Hire an electrician to avoid a headache - or be prepared for a longer than usual install time - and you'll be so pleased! Despite this, another new awesome light in our house!
