If you live near water, it's definitely something to keep in mind. The concern is really with the feces, not the litter itself. As for the litter, if you have a septic tank, it depends on how well your tank handles other litters. If you've flushed other types of litter into your septic system in the past without issues, PrettyLitter should work just as well.
