People often confuse silica gel in cat litter for crystalline silicate (which is a form of quartz, often found in clay litters and it is regulated by OSHA as a hazardous material. ). There's no crystalline silica in PrettyLitter or any other silica gel cat litter. A: Hi Savannah, great question! While one bag of PrettyLitter typically lasts a month for a single cat in an average-sized litter box, every household is a bit different. If you have multiple cats, we recommend at least one bag per cat; for instance, if two cats share one box, we suggest two bags for that box, or if each cat has their own box but one is used more, we'd still suggest two bags per box. To get the best performance, maintain a depth of 2 inches for one cat, or 3 inches if you have multiple cats or if your cat tends to urinate more. Aside from the "hard-clumping," which was something of an exaggeration in your claims, the litter seems fine, Peppers is as happy with it as a cranky formerly feral senior-citizen can be. Regarding odor, things are going well at this point. Please forgive my lack of enthusiasm, but like many merchants theses days, you rushed into the review phase. Alas.

My cats have been using this litter for a few weeks now. They don't seem to mind it. However, I find litter everywhere. Even with a litter mat in front it scatters throughout the house. For now they don't seem to have health issues with color change in the litter. There is still an odor issue. It has not been eliminated.

No problems with odor - just one kitten and I take out the poop every day sometimes twice a day. The litter does get thrown out about 2 feet from the box opening, so it has to be cleaned up often so I might have to get a box cover.

Pretty Litter is the best litter we've ever invested in for our two cats! First, the health test puts us at ease. Then, there is no clumpy urine build-up and smell! My Cats jumped right into their new litter box that I received for free with my first order. They seem to like the new type of litter too! It was a good decision to switch to Pretty litter.
