Description

Say goodbye to that "litter box" smell. PrettyLitter is an absorbent non-clumping cat litter that traps odor instantly and then eliminates moisture, making it ideal for single and multiple-cat households. PrettyLitter is a revolutionary, lightweight litter that changes color to monitor your cat's health. It can help detect issues such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder inflammation, urinary stones, and blood in the urine, among others. PrettyLitter makes life as a cat owner hassle-free by being odorless, scentless & health monitoring. The absorbent crystals mean you only need to scoop the poop, which translates to easy maintenance and advanced odor control. Since you're wasting less litter, you can change the litter box as little as once a month (not once a week like traditional clay cat litter). PrettyLitter is made of super absorbent, lightweight silica gel. Silica gel crystals are extremely absorbent, more so than other litter types, so you need less litter to do the same job. The long-lasting, non-clumping litter means lighter trash bags, less scooping and less trips to the store. The low-dust formula equals less dust and mess for cat owners concerned with asthma. This light-weight litter is here to take some of the stress out of cat parenting, so you can focus on what matters most — living a long and happy life together.

Q: Will 8 pound bag work for two cats and for how long?

submitted by dino007 - 5 years ago
  • A: I doubt that one bag will be compatible with two cats. I have a large Ragdoll and since she kicks up a lot, I use a large clear container with high sides. I've had the subscription service for several months & use two bags. Since I have just one cat, those two bags will last six weeks or more.

submitted byNoele - 5 years ago
  • A: I decided to try this for 2 months. Got 2 8# bags, have 2 big boy cats! I can't let it go 4 weeks, this last time I couldn't stand the ammonia smell at the 3 rd week. They probably couldn't either! (I have 2 more boxes in basement with clumping litter so this isn't even their only potty area.) I do not know if I will try it again. The odor control on the poop is terrible. And expensive, $25 every 3 weeks. On the up side, this doesn't turn to "cement" like clumping litter can when they go in same place in box! Still makes dust but not as much a regular litter.

submitted byDcl - 5 years ago
  • A: It all depends on your setup! The lifespan of PrettyLitter is determined by a few different factors including litter box size, the frequency of your kitties' bathroom visits, and where you keep your litter stored. In an average sized litter box, one 8lb bag should last 3 weeks to one month. If its larger than average it will last less than that amount of time. If you want a full month's worth of use, you will need 2.5-3 inches of depth in their box. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at meow@prettylitter.com or check out the FAQ page on our website.

  • A: You are still supposed to clean out the poop from the litterbox every few days. It works WONDERS for pee odors! I have 5 cats, 6 litter boxes, and use 2 1/2 8 pound bags each month. Works GREAT!

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: You might get 2 weeks out of an 8lb bag unless your cats are going outside. I using 1.5 6lb bags and can barely get 10 days before the smell becomes too much. The crystals don't trap odor.

submitted byScott - 2 years ago
  • A: if you use XL covered litter box, w/ 2 cats, you will use one 8 lb bag a month. I suggest changing every 2 weeks. I scooped poop daily for a week. I used about 4 lbs, had a lot of pee below crystals.

Q: I bought Prettylitter directly from the company which was amazing. Saw it in Target for cheaper but the quality seemed to be inferior by comparison. Is there a difference between the 2 versions?

submitted by ZeeandZo - 5 years ago
  • A: I have bought pretty litter from both the online supping and at both target and walmart. They are exactly the same product except for the size of the bags.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: That does Not Answer Their Question At All. They asked about The Quality of The Pretty Litter as opposed to The Original Web Site for Pretty Litter. Is It The Exact Same Stuff?

submitted byShort Cake - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for the support! The bags found on our website are a one month supply with a little more litter to make up for any potential delays in shipping. Plus our subscription members get exclusive access to our fun toys, accessories, and exclusive new products!

  • A: Yes online 6lbs for 1 month. At Target 8lbs for 2 months. 4lbs is not enough to last 2 months.

submitted byMark - 5 years ago
  • A: horrible product. I had a bath rug in front of the exit of the box to catch crystals on paws. No good; I had crystals all over my apt and I had to switch to flip flops instead of barefoot in the apt.

submitted byflagone - 4 years ago
  • A: Does pretty litter Really Work for not having Ordor in the house or apt.?

submitted byShort Cake - 4 years ago

Q: Will this diagnose urinary problems (like crystals or uti) in my cat? Is it reliable and correct every time? Who has experienced that this litter actually works for this purpose?

submitted by Cali - 4 years ago
  • A: Hey, Cali! We designed PrettyLitter with proprietary health monitoring technology to help signal some potential health issues early before you may even notice symptoms in your cat. PrettyLitter reacts to certain urinary elements such as levels of acidity and alkalinity to make color changes visible to the naked eye or show blood. You can check out our FAQ page for additional tips or reach out to our customer service team (meow@prettylitter.com) for additional assistance.

  • A: I had a cat who turned the litter blue. It wasn't a UTI, but it was a stress-induced high alkalinity issue that we medicated and it went away, so yes it works.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: My cat's litter color changed when she was stressed about us getting a puppy. We brought her to the vet and learned that kidney stones were forming, and got the help that she needed. Love it!

submitted byCatherine - 4 years ago

Q: Can someone who has had a cat with health problems let me know if this actually works to diagnose issues? Is it effective and reliable and does it actually work for that purpose?

submitted by Cali - 4 years ago
  • A: If you see the color change, take your cat in. Better safe than sorry. Then your vet will tell you with a complete diagnosis.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: Yes, we brought our cat in & learned that she had a urinary issue. All we had to do was buy medicated food, & it was way less expensive than if the litter hadn't told us early on.

submitted byCatherine - 4 years ago
  • A: Hey, Cali! We understand and respect your feedback. We actually designed this product for the purpose of informing cat owners about early symptoms their cat might have that may cause diseases and illnesses. While our color changing technology was designed with your cat’s health in mind, we always want to emphasize that PrettyLitter is a tool that provides insights into what might be going on with your cat, and not a medical diagnostic product. Only a licensed Veterinarian can diagnose a medical condition. You can shoot us an email at meow@prettylitter.com or give us a call at 1(800)838-3381.

Q: Do I have to scoop the pool everyday?

submitted by Pahlem - 5 years ago
  • A: I scoop the poop every few days. Not daily.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: PrettyLitter is a non-clumping litter. The super dry silica gels absorb the urine and odor, trapping it inside as the water in the urine evaporates out. The solid excrement is the only waste you need to scoop and dispose of. Just throw it away like you normally would and replace all of the litter every month.

Q: Does pretty litter help to eliminate litter tracking outside of the litter box? Is there any reason why pretty litter may mitigate tracking out of the box?

submitted by B - 5 years ago
  • A: Litter tracking can be worse for some cats depending on the texture of their fur, but we always suggest getting a textured cat mat or a high-walled litter box to combat tracking with any litter. We’d love to help you get set up for success and make sure your PrettyLitter lasts all month long. You can check out our FAQ page for additional tips or reach out to our customer service team (meow@prettylitter.com) for additional assistance.

  • A: My cats still track, even with a mat, but it's less than with regular litter.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: Ours tracks it right outside her box, but we don't find it stuck to her (long haired cat) or in other areas of the house, unlike previous litters. WORTH IT!

submitted byCatherine - 4 years ago

Q: How do I know when its time to change it?

submitted by Kathryn23 - 5 years ago
  • A: If the litter turns blue your cat may have a UTI! Watch for the colors. That's another great advantage of this litter. WELL worth the few extra dollars!

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago
  • A: Do the "sniff test"! The crystals will gradually change color from off-white to yellow and then to green. You will notice that when it goes green, there is a noticeable ammonia odor which gradually gets worse until you just have to change the whole lot out. At that point, you will be able to smell the ammonia on your cat. I scoop the solid waste every day and vigorously stir the litter around the box to mix the wet crystals in with the dry. For reference, I have 3 cats sharing 2 large litter boxes. I can leave the litter for up to 2 weeks before the ammonia smell becomes really overpowering. I've been using Pretty Litter for over a year now and can't imagine going back to the clay stuff.

submitted byKeenshopper - 5 years ago
  • A: You'll know it's time to change your PrettyLitter when the odor control starts to weaken or when the litter starts to become blue and slushy. Normally, one bag lasts 2 months and should be poured half a bag at a time.

Q: Is there a fragrance in the litter?

submitted by JDMorgan - 5 years ago
  • A: I wish it had a little scent for better odor control with the poop. It does not control that.

submitted byDcl - 5 years ago
  • A: Nope! PrettyLitter is fragrance free and is able to absorb external odor using our highly absorbent silica gels.

submitted byPrettyLitter - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: You still have to scoop the poop. It's much easier than dealing with both. And way less smell.

submitted byLaura - 4 years ago

Q: How is an 8 pound bag a two month supply when on their official website a 6 pound bag is a 1 month supply the math doesn’t add up

submitted by Waterwitch - 5 years ago
  • A: I have two cats and have two litter boxes. A 6 lb bag of pretty litter goes in each litter box and it lasts about 3 weeks. I feel like this litter is pricey, but it is worth every penny!!! I am so glad I can now buy it at Target.

submitted byVBcatmom - 5 years ago
  • A: 4 pounds of PrettyLitter will cover most litter boxes for a one month supply. Because litter box sizes vary and some may want a little more, PrettyLitter customers who subscribe at PrettyLitter.com receive a little extra at 6 pounds each month just to make sure every litter box is covered.

submitted byPrettyLitter - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Agree, when I ordered directly from Pretty Litter the 6lbs last the entire month with no smell. When I purchased from Target 4lbs is not enough to minimize the smell and tends to get saturated only lasting if your lucky 3 weeks. I have only 1 small cat using the smallest covered litter box sold by Target.

Q: Is the pretty little silica gel safe around kids/babies?

submitted by Too many shoes - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi there! We’re so glad you asked—safety around kids and babies (and our furry family members) is incredibly important. PrettyLitter’s amorphous silica formula is non‑toxic, household‑friendly, and safe to use around children when used as directed. If you’d like more details or have specific concerns, feel free to reach out to us directly at meow@prettylitter.com. We’re always a whisker away and happy to help.

Decent

Only downside is no clumping whatsoever. Forces you to just dump litter after a month instead of add more to it
1 reply from PrettyLitter team - 4 days ago
Hi Kelly! We’re really sorry this was your experience; it sounds like this was frustrating from start to finish, and we understand why it left a bad impression. PrettyLitter is a non‑clumping litter, so it absorbs moisture rather than forming scoopable clumps, but it shouldn’t leave you dealing with a difficult cleanup. We’d really like the chance to help turn this around for you. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us at meow@prettylitter.com, and our team can take a closer look and help make this right.

Good litter

I liked the pretty litter, I think I bought the wrong one cause it didn't clump at all and I prefer that to distributing the urine throughout the box.

Great litter

Really like this litter, I have been a subscriber for a few years now. However, I don't like that it is tracked outside of the litter box and what I really do not like is all the offers for buy one get one and other offers are not offered to long time customers. I am constantly recieving texts but they do not apply apparenttly.

Amazing!!

My household is incredibly surprised at how easy Pretty Litter is to use. I had no idea there weren’t any clumps to scoop, and that the litter just absorbed all of the liquid liquids. So only a few poops to scoop a day! And no dust!! So far, my kitty seems to have healthy pee.

Excellent Cat Litter

I had seen the TV adds and when my two cats ages 18 and 16 started not acting like themselves I decided to try pretty litter. Everything is normal, and they both enjoy using pretty litter over the bedding pellets I have used since they were both kittens. I love that I don't have to clean the litter boxes every week and that it is easy to use.

I would recommend to s friend as it seems to perform as advertised, but I would caution that if you have a picky cat that has exclusively used clay litter it may not be an easy transition.

Approved as Best Ever by Kittyboy.

My kittyboy LOVES PrettyLitter. He cannot WAIT while I am pouring in a new bag into his litter box. He DIVES into it to check it out (and try it out!) I will never use another product. PrettyLitter never has the smell nor heavy weight from non-absorption that occurs with other litter brands/types and does not have to be constantly changed. You have a lifelong customer per kitty and his owner!

Have been using for several

Have been using for several years and decided to try a subscription. My only complaint is that the size of the bags with a subscription are smaller than those available in some of the big box stores. The litter itself has given us an early heads up several times throughout the time we have been using it. Great product.
