I was interested in trying this because I’ve never heard of such a thing but I think I’m over the curiosity 🥹 it smells like bacon. But I’m not fond of the texture and the look. Packaging wise, lots of bacon for one small package but i couldn’t finish it 😭 threw in an extra star for effort in giving options and because it smells like bacon.

If you are trying to stop eating pork and looking for a substitute, don’t hesitate to purchase, they taste great. I even make a quick bacon sandwich with this bacon and its very satisfying. You will not feel bad about eating the bacon and its flavorful. Its a quick 2 minutes microwave fix or you can still throw it in the oven if your not rushing.

It was my first time trying vegetarian bacon and although it wasn’t great, it wasn’t terrible either. Some things I liked most about this product was the smokiness of the bacon, the crispy texture, it wasn’t too salty and it didn’t take that long to heat up. One thing I didn’t like about the bacon was that there was no other flavor than the smokiness. Another thing I didn’t like was that it dried out a lot when it was cooked. I always add garlic powder to my bacon in general, so I added some to two of the strips to see the flavor difference and I preferred those much better to the plain strips. **I cooked these in a skillet with no grease.**

Of course, the look and texture is different, but as a vegetarian I don’t mind that at all. Even my meat-eating husband was surprised how much it smells like bacon. Morning Star always does such a good job with their meat substitutes. I just wish companies could figure out a way to get more protein in.

The texture is crispy but lacking the bite that bacon has but I can see why vegetarians go nuts for this stuff. A great substitute for vegetarians and also people looking for a lower calorie option.

The apple smoked scent is strong which is an appetizing appeal and makes you hungry for what I can fake bacon. The packaging is a simple thin box and you receive it as Frozen product. The taste is unfortunately not a strong as the smell and is a bit flavorless on the tongue.
