Lavazza Super Crema Aluminum Nespresso Compatible Medium Roast Coffee Capsules - 10ct

It’s advertised to have a very good crema but the standard/regular blend is far better. This extra crema esprssso is also very bitter. It’s not Lavazza’s best blend; all others are much better. I will not purchase this blend again.

It is perfect on its with some sugar or you can add steamed milk. In the picture you can see the crema before anything was added.

These super crema pods have been a nice way to enjoy a shot of espresso without fiddling with a complicated machine. The pods themselves are pretty standard and fit into our nespresso machine without issue. Both of us were pleasantly surprised with how nice a crema it achieved out of what is a fairly basic machine. The flavor itself is nice, medium roast is a good description. It’s not super bitter but dark enough for some complexity and body without needing to be a hardcore black coffee drinker to appreciate it. These are definitely perfect for a midday pick me up. It’s absolutely perfect in our espresso cups, the crema is aesthetic in addition to providing a nice mouthfeel. I feel like it’s also an indicator of how fresh the coffee in these pods is.

The flavor is perfectly balanced with a creamy texture and delicious notes of honey and nuts. I love how the coffee is strong without tasting bitter, and the capsules are very convenient for bus mornings.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I need to admit, I'm a bit of a coffee snob; which is why I purchased the Nespresso machine. It's nice to try pods that aren't made by Nespresso but can work on my machine. These were dark roast and had a little sweetness. This pod could be used for espresso and lungo. Overall, I did not love it. The pods freaked my machine out and it made a weird noise when I used the pods. The drip was also slower (took longer to finish). There was the foam cap that you get from a Nespresso espresso. Overall the flavor of the coffee fell flat for me. I didn't have a full body cup of coffee. I ended up adding a teaspoon of espresso concentrate because my coffee didn't taste right. I don't always use dark roast coffees which is why I'm convinced it's just that this brand doesn't make the best coffee. I wouldn't buy it. But I would recommend it if someone isn't a coffee snob and are looking for an affordable substitution for the Nespresso pods because they did at least work in the machine.
