Basic good-tasting frozen meal
I liked this shepherd’s pie. It’s good for when you want a basic, not overly spiced or salty-tasting type meal. Maybe add a green veggie on the side.

It's OK, but not great
I’ve been buying this off and on for many years. It used to be better, and my only complaint was the size. 20-30% bigger would be lovely! I’m gluten free and (especially 10 years ago) finding easy grab-and-go meals can be hard. This was one of my go-tos for quite awhile. Then they changed it, which was really disappointing. Going from the previous version to the new one was a noticeable downgrade and so I decided not to purchase it anymore. After not having it for a couple years, I decided to give it another shot. I recently tried it again and it’s just ok. It’s convenient comfort food that I can keep in the freezer for when there’s no time to cook. It’s not great or a favorite anymore, unfortunately, but I like shepherds pie and I miss having it so it does fill a need. My complaints are similar to others—it’s dry, the texture of the beef is off putting (very finely ground), and as I mentioned it is smaller than I’d like. I’m not sure what changed and I would prefer it go back to how it was originally. Overall, it’s fine and finding gluten-free options can still be a challenge so this is something I have occasionally. I don’t know of any other gluten-free options for shepherds pie so I imagine I will continue to purchase this one every now and then. I appreciate that it uses very little plastic in the packaging! And the upside of it being small means it’s very easy to find a spot for it in the freezer even when the freezer is full.

Good shepherd's pie
This my favorite frozen shepherd's pie. (Sorry it should be called cottage pie because it's beef, not lamb. Is there a frozen lamb Shepherd's Pie anywhere in the US?) It's hearty and tasty without too many calories, just 280. I think I like this so much because I used to go to a place that served homemade shepherd's pie. OK, I've had other frozen versions, including Ramsay's, but I this is better.. (By the way, Ramsay's looks awfully sloppy on your plate.)

Yuck! It's a NO
When I purchased, I hadn't read the reviews beforehand. Boy do I wish I had tho because the negative reviews on here aren't wrong. It's not worth the money unless you want a toddler size meal that is dry and flavorless. I'm serious, we are talking drrrrryyyy

A Tasty and Convenient Lunch
There are a lot of negative reviews but I don't understand why. I enjoyed this moreso than other frozen dinners. It's not soggy and the beef is seasoned. It heats up perfectly in the oven. I like the portion size because it's not too many calories.

Bland!!
This might possibly be the driest shepherds pie I have ever had. The only flavor it had was from the corn. It is dry ground beef, corn, and mashed potatoes. I will not be purchasing again.

Awful
The mashed potatoes were just OK and the meat (??) was horrible. I gave it to my dog.

Small
This was delicious but too expensive for the size. I wasn’t even close to full after eating this.

Meh.
Had NO seasoning. Like, none. It would’ve been amazing if it did. Meat on bottom. On par with other reviews. So much potential here and it falls so short.

Not my favorite Blake's meal
First, shepherd's pie is made with lamb; this is a cottage pie. When I make cottage pie I add onions, carrots and peas to the ground beef and I make a gravy. Blake's version is just seasoned ground beef (very tasty, I have no problem with the taste), corn (lots of corn) and mashed potatoes. No gravy, no onions, peas or carrots to bump up the flavor. Except for the beef this is a very bland meal. I was hoping for more as I like several of Blake's meals a lot

Excellent Shepherd's Pie
As a Brit, I like to think I know a good Shepherd’s Pie. This is definitely very good. The meat is flavorful and tender, as is the mashed potato. Also I love this as I can’t tolerate spicy food. This is great as you can add salt and pepper as you like it.

Disappointed
I agree with the other reviews. The meat had an off putting texture. There is no seasoning at all. I tried to add salt and pepper to make it palatable, but it wasn’t very helpful. It was dry and flavorless. I purchased it because we enjoy the chicken pot pie from the same company, but I won’t purchase the Shepard’s Pie again It really is a very small portion. The meat was in one corner of the container and the corn filled the rest and topped with the potatoes. The corn and potatoes were so so, but the meat was awful. I ended up just tossing it out

This is not a meal by any stretch of the imagination. Portion is tiny and there's nothing besides beef, potato and corn.

OK in a pinch
Bland, needs poor man’s steak sauce (A1) slathered on to make tolerable. Too much corn for filler but ok for quick hamburger in a pinch or if you need a bland diet. Potatoes are good. Filling for less than average appetite but would need 2 if very hungry. Wish it was grass-fed beef.

No
Tiny portion, no flavor, very dry meat and bland mashed potatoes. No peas or other staple veggies found in Shepard’s Pie. Just NO!
