Guests are saying
The recent changes to the chicken a la king recipe have left many guests disappointed, as they recall a time when it was creamy, flavorful, and well-prepared. The new version is often described as mushy, bland, and lacking in quality ingredients. However, some guests still appreciate its convenience and ease of preparation, making it a quick meal option for busy days. The dish has nostalgic value for many, but the current formulation has not met expectations for a significant number of guests.

Why did you change it?🙁
After the name change adding “casserole “, the sauce changed, it’s bland now, just awful. I didn’t mind picking out the mushrooms because the dish was excellent. But whatever this “casserole” change was, it RUINED the dish. I’m no longer a fan and no longer a buyer.

Why the Change?
This has changed. I used to love it when everything was mixed together but now the rice is separate and the mushrooms are huge. Why the change?

Not So Good Anymore
This used to be a favorite...it was creamy and delicious. Now it is mushy, sticky, and yellow. I didn't realize the recipe had changed and bought two. Will not be buying any more.

Disappointed
Been meaning to write this for a long time, and when my sister brought this home, thought I'd give it another try...that maybe you have listened to your loyal customers, but no, it was the same mushy rice, everything mixed together, and hardly any vegs. This meal was always my favorite, and I liked stirring the sides separately, so that I could have less rice if need be, and ohhh, how yummy the sauce and vegs were!! Sadly, only a memory now.

Changed the recipe
This dish used to be my all time favorite frozen dinner. I would have one every Friday after work. Then they went & changed the recipe. Whatever they did to this wonderful dish, ruined it. That's 52 Chicken Ala Kings I won't be buying in 2025. Bring back the old recipe, PLEASE!!!

A time & place
I enjoy these meals. I enjoy cooking as well. If you want a high level detailed oriented meal, perhaps it's best prepared by yourself. If a time comes around however, and your a bit flexible, then these are very tasty to me. I dont have to prepare all of the items included myself. If you're getting meals with hard chicken peices in it after preparing as directed, perhaps there's other factors at work. I've enjoyed every chicken al a king prepared. I've had quite a few. There's room for constructive criticism in most areas. I would just enjoy it, or choose something else.

New recipe is dreadful
The rice and sauce is congealed and glutenous. The flavor profile is flat. Just awful. I will not be having again.

Why the change? Make the sauce separate again
The old way was so much better.it tasted better and was especially for those of us with blood sugar issues or watching our carbs because we could limit the amount of rice we ate. Now I cannot eat this.

Stouffer's Chicken Ala King Ingredients
The butter and chicken fat in this Stouffer's food product made me sick. Shortly after consuming one 11-1/2 oz package, I felt nauseous and eventually I threw up. This is not a healthy food oroduct based on the ingredients.

Bring the old recipe back!
The original recipe was wonderful. This "casserole" formula is mushy, bland and mixed together. Keep the sauce separate. I won't be buying this again.

Rubber chicken cubes
You changed the recipe . This frozen meal used to have real chicken breast, random sized pieces. Now it has processed and formed chicken cubes that are like chewing rubber. Why in the world would you ruin this dinner..........I'll tell you why folks, to save a few cents per tray, to keep that corporate profit high. I would rather pay a little more to get a quality frozen meal, than to eat this garbage. If I wanted rubber chicken cubes, I would have purchased Michelinas frozen dinners. Please change your recipe to the original one. Stop putting profit over quality.

Go back to the original recipe... please!
You have ruined what was my favorite Stouffer's meal! It is now just a gloppy, pre-mixed mess. No veggies, no gravy, dry chicken. No separate rice and sauce to fluff and stir during cooking process.

Awful
Like many other reviewers, I used to love the chicken a la king. I've tried several times recently and each one was worse than the last. The chicken (?) cubes were like rocks. Totally inedible. Never again! This accidentally came up as two stars. If there were any option for 0, I would have chosen that.

Please separate sauce from rice! Bring back the old recipe!
This use to be my favorite item of all time. Sauce use to be abundant and separated from the rice, and I was able to add peas to the sauce. Now it's mixed together, mushy, dry, like eating dog food!

Pretty Good!
I see mixed reviews, but this is not bad at all....I mean Hello it is a frozen meal for a very "value price". If you want gourmet...then cook it from scratch or order from a high end restaurant....For grab and go just pop it in the microwave (if you need a little more taste, hit it with a little butter spray maybe/if it is to "pasty" for your liking maybe loosen with a little water)? All in all....fast and pretty good micro meal for one on the go! And before anyone blasts my "palate" I have been a successful chef for many years (that enjoys a break from cooking now and again).
