Q: Is the velvet fabric (100%) cotton pre-shrunk? Should I expect shrinkage with the first washing?

  • A: Yes, it shrinks. First time I washed and dried it, it shrunk. It was dried on low heat. Still beautiful and I make it work but I am definitely a bit disappointed that it shrunk so much - several inches on the side.

Beautifil and durable

I have owned this quilt for almost 2 years and even with big dogs sleeping on it every night there are zero rips or tears. This is truly one of the most durable blankets I’ve ever used. It’s soft, it washes up well and it’s warm without being too bulky. Combine it’s a durability with the fact that it’s beautiful and it’s a 10/10

Well Priced Cotton Velvet

I love this well priced quilt and have bought several. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that it fades if exposed to direct sunlight. Not extremely noticeable on mine (natural color), but I imagine it would be in the darker colors. Be careful if drying on a clothesline in sunlight. It has a nice matte finish, not shiny like the synthetic velvets. I have a 14” high king mattress and it comes down on the sides exactly to the bed frame. If you have a deeper mattress there would be a gap. Also holds up well to my small dog digging his “nest” on it before bed!

This is the 5th velvet channel stitch quilt I've purchased (for different rooms). 4 of the ivory & one dark gray. They look very upscale, wash beautifully & age extremely well. I wanted a color refresh so I decided to go with the camel this time. It's stunning! A deep, rich color that adds warmth & sophistication.

Fell apart in wash

When I bought this it had a small stain on it - no big deal, I obviously was going to wash it anyway prior to using. Despite washing on the bedding cycle in my washer, the seams completely split in the center of the quilt. Maybe I just got a bad run for stitch quality, but it is super cute.

It’s cute and I love that it’s (mostly) cotton as that is hard to find. Washed before use and a lot of material came off, but overall, it is good. Disappointed in the stitching that is already fraying in some parts. I think even with that, this will last a good while. It is a nice medium weight. Difficult to wash and dry.

Just Perfect

I bought the Cream color since the Natural was out of stock and I love it . Wash well , soft on both sides and goes perfect with my decor. The pillow covers are alway out of stock , both king and Euro sham . Nevertheless I have no issues with my purchase . If the Natural color ever back in stock I will definitely buy . Use as layering under duvet cover .

Stitches popping-not happy
