Poor quality control - cracked side pieces

I first purchased this chair online for delivery on Sep 30 and started assembling it a week later. Halfway through, I discovered to my dismay, that one of the side pieces had a large crack. I immediately called Target customer service and was told I would have to return and re-purchase (an exchange was not an option). Further, the chair had to be returned to a store even though this was an online purchase/delivery. So off I went repacking and returning to a store wasting precious time I didn't have. I reordered the chair online on October 11. It was delivered a few days later, and guess what - it too had a crack in one of the legs (see the picture). Unfortunately, I needed this chair urgently for an event so I just went ahead and decided to keep it (I don't have the time or the energy to dissemble it and take it back to the store)... In summary, I paid full price for a new chair and got a cracked one, not once but twice. QC anyone?
