A: Hi - this is a hard-wired picture light design that needs to installed into a wall electrical box and is controlled by a wall switch. It is not a plug-in or a cordless battery-powered light. Hope this helps! Thank you for your question.

This is an attractive light at a reasonable price. We would have preferred a less noticeable light fixture, but they are so expensive. We are happy with this choice.

This worked perfectly with our 36 x 24 artwork. Converted hardwire to plug in and use a timer to turn on and off. A moderately handy person can do this with ease.
