  • A: We generally recommend 8-to-10-inch mattress heights. However, this bed does not have guardrails or a bed above it so there are no restrictions to mattresses above 10 inches.

Q: Can the trundle be opened on the other side of the bed. As I see it online I would need it to open in the other direction to fit in our bedroom.

Q: Does it have a chemical smell? Saw an online blog that stated it did. Just wondering if any shoppers here that bought the bed thought the same?

  • A: Hello there, Our products do not have any finishes that contain hazardous materials. On occasion there may still be a smell from the finishing process at our factory, this is normal and will dissipate with time. If you would like to has the smell dissipate more quickly you can wipe down the wood with an ammonia-free cleaner. I hope this helps! -Sam

Q: What size mattress/ Height?

  • A: Hello there, Thank you for reaching out! Our beds can fit a standard sized mattresses, in this case it will accommodate a full sized mattress for the main bed (54" x 75"). The trundle bed can accommodate a standard sized twin mattress (38" x 75"). This mattress need to be 6 inches or less in height in order to fit under the main bed. I hope this helps!

    The slats are far apart. So if you have a thin and soft mattress it seems it could be dangerous if you stand on the bed and your foot falls between the slats. I'm ordering different mattresses. Other than that, you can see it looks great. The trundle moves smoothly and pretty easily. It very was pretty easy to put together.

    Great bed quality, but i was shocked how wide each slats were apart. The trundle bed was about 9 inches apart. If you use memory foam, this will be an issue and will need to get plywood or some sort of more backing.

    We're glad to hear you're happy with the quality of the bed! The slats that come with it are designed to work with our mattresses and most others. If you prefer slats that are closer together, we do offer a premium slat roll with 3-inch spacing for added support.

    Terrible quality

    The bed is super cute so I hate that the quality was so terrible for the price. We've had this bed less than 2 years as a guest bed so it hasn't been used a ton and it caved in on itself.

    Looks good, breaks fast.

    Beautiful bed but flimsy slats. By 2 years in the single metal cross bar had bent into an arc and the middle slat broken nearly through. We've been making do in a busy time but are going to try to replace slats with 2x4s this summer, just not sure if that will work with the mattress, etc. Did she ever jump on it? I suspect yes. We certainly told her not to. Does your kid ever jump on things? Maybe skip this bed. Also I'm not sure that's what happened and it was easy to tell as we set it up that the support was not going to last. Giving 3 instead of 2 to be fair because it is after all a cheap frame, as frames go.

    College bound

    Looks great in the bedroom room. My 9 year old grandson loves it. He's been advised that he's taking it to college with him. Delivery was as promised . Assembly not difficult.

    Not as sturdy as expected.

    The beds not as sturdy as I hoped for. When trying to reposition the top stayed put while the bottom moved and you could see it was not moving together. Not sure this will have the longevity I expected. Also wish I would have selected pecan instead of walnut. The walnut in person is much darker and more like espresso. I do like the trundle bed feature.

    Does not provide enough wooden slats!

    The bed does not include enough wooden slats. To keep the mattress satisfactory the birds need to be spaced within every three inches. The slats provided are spaced every 9 inches. I would advise the company to make this change and provide more supportive wooden slats! I am in need of additional slats and wish the company in response to this review to contact me to provide needed slats.

    The bed looks nice, wood is solid, but putting it together was challenging. The holes for the slats in the trundle did not line up well with the dinky screws provided. We had to go buy larger screws to get them to seat well. Otherwise, happy with the purchase.
