Description
Making your own Southwest-inspired dishes is a little easier with Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend from Good & Gather™ on hand. This frozen vegetable blend is a mix of bell peppers, onions, black beans and corn with rice in a spicy Southwest-style sauce for a flavorful filling for burritos, fajitas and more. The frozen veggies make your meal prep quick, cutting out the need for chopping and seasoning vegetables. Simply microwave on high to have the veggies ready in just six minutes when you want to get them served up quickly, or cook on the stovetop when you have a little more time to get dinner on the table. Enjoy these Southwest-style veggies on their own in tacos or on top of nachos, or add in your favorite protein for a little extra flavor.
Directions
Needs to be fully cooked. Keep frozen until ready to prepare.
For food safety, cook to 165°F until hot throughout. Appliances may vary; adjust cooking time accordingly.
Refrigerate or discard leftovers immediately.
Microwave
Do not puncture or open before microwaving.
1. Place unopened bag THIS SIDE UP in microwave oven. Evenly distribute vegetables inside.
2. Microwave on HIGH for 6 minutes or until hot.**
3. Let stand 1 minute. Bag will be hot; lift from corners. Open carefully.
**Directions developed for 1100 watt microwave ovens. Cooking in ovens of lower watts will require additional time.
Stovetop
1. Combine rice and vegetables with 1/3 cup water in large nonstick skillet.
2. Cover and cook, stirring frequently, over MEDIUM heat for 8 minutes.
3. Remove lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until hot, stirring frequently.

Very small amount once cooked. Flavor was decent but did taste a little like the bag. I mixed it with some plain Greek yogurt and put it on tortillas which helped masked it a little. Pretty good if you don’t love cooking after a long day!

Inaccurate description of quantity. There is one to start to just about if you're lucky maybe 1.251.5 cups of actual food in the container it is not through servings I don't know really if that matters when it comes to calorie count but as far as if you're expecting to be able to make three bowls of food for three adults based on the description of the quantity on the bag that is completely inaccurate just buy one and take out a measuring cup and you will very quickly see the inaccurate description. It's possible that the claim is being made based on if you get a really large serving size full of onion because the onions will take up a lot more space than they would if you have fewer of them in the bag but once you prepare the food... the heating will remove the rigidity from the Frozen onions that becomes the messy slimy wet onion that's cooked shrinking volume completely. just use any kitchen measuring cup and see after heating.

I haven't tried steaming in the bag, I cooked this in my skillet and it came out perfect. I'd suggest adding some ground pork or beef (or your favorite), get some tortillas and chees and make tacos. Dinner simplified.

It was good, you just need to add water and let it bowl down. I added a little salt, garlic, smoked paprika to bring out the flavors. Didn’t have an issue with the beans being hard because I added water. About 1/4 cup of water will do the trick.

I thought this was delicious! I don't understand all the negative reviews. It probably depends on how you cook it. I have a steam oven as I don't like microwaves, and it came came out perfectly moist and flavorful. I ate it with guacamole I got from ACME supermarket and lettuce. Next time I want to add grilled chicken and a bit of cheese. I enjoyed it as a quick lunch.

I love buying steam-in-bag veggies for making quick, healthy bowls for dinner. So easy when the veggies have a sauce and just add chicken/fish/egg/salad or whatever. Sure wish the brand would figure out the bean situation!!! A person will probably break a tooth.
