Needed It! Mounted It! Watch It!
I needed a stand to move our flat screen TV around our basement rec room. After doing some hasty online shopping, I chose this one. The package arrived quickly and I set about putting it together. The instructions included were a little challenging, due to the small print. They are "international" style - meaning pictures only. I'm only semi-mechanically inclined and would rate the difficulty of assembly at a 7.0 out of 10.0 total. There were a few times when the vague images left me having to go back an undo a step to turn around one of the parts for a correct fit. I did have a bottle of wine with me, and it appeared to get easier the more I drank. In the end, "success!", I had a fully assembled TV stand and was able to mount the TV itself without assistance. The stand works well and is sturdy. Aesthetically speaking, this stand looks like something from the Audio Visual Department at a community college, or a corporate video stand used for HR training videos in an industrial setting. Not the most stylish product out there, but for the reasonable price I am happy with our purchase. It is height adjustable, a nice feature and includes trays for peripherals like DVD players, DVR recorders and a little tray on top for your cable box. I would rank this item highly for its sturdy construction. It feels reasonably solid. We don't have small children in the house, but if I did have little ones I would be careful about having them around this unit. The casters and base have a wide stance, but I could see a toddler yanking on cables or wires so there may be some tip over risk. Our downstairs den is decorated with 1950's vintage furniture, but we like a modern TV for movie nights. This is a good unit to roll out of the room when not in use, and serves our needs well. I'm sure there are more expensive & stylish options out there, but feel this product represents a good value for the price we paid. I hope this review is useful for others who are considering a similar purchase.
