Description
Designed for growth - both physical and academic - the Taiga Desk, Hutch and Chair Set by Guidecraft was created for children from early elementary into secondary school, and provides the perfect balance of design and function. Strong, sturdy, clean lines, brass handle-pulls, and multiple storage options help with organization and routines in home-learning environments. Desk includes two spacious drawers with wooden glides and stop mechanisms and a wide cubby. Hutch includes three cubbies, a corkboard, wire management openings, and braces on the side and back for additional stability. The sturdy chair allows children to access the desk at the appropriate height for reading, writing, crafting, and using the computer.

Setting up is impossible, the screws will literally break as you try to tighten it.

Wrong size pieces
Beautiful desk. Seems sturdy. Only complaint is that a) assembly takes a few hours and b) the box came with a couple pieces of the wrong size and therefore we couldn't complete the drawer assembly and needed to wait for replacement parts to be sent. Otherwise, everything is great and I can't wait for my son to use it.

One piece was damaged. When the box was delivered, they sent me a new piece quickly. The second box was delayed and they shipped it out without delay. The desk itself is a perfect size for my daughter, and was pretty easy to put together by myself.

Wood is of above average quality. Tightening heads are cheap and break easily. Had to pick up a few replacements at hardware store. Shipping speed was fonomial, arrived in time for Xmas. Overall 4/5 and would recommend.

Assembly not good
My daughter loves the overall look of the desk but my husband and I were frustrated with assembly. The pictures aren’t great, there’s no guide for hardware and overall some pieces didn’t fit together seamlessly. Due to the fact we couldn’t tell which screws went where, he drilled through a piece (out the other side) causing damage.

Good desk
Color and look are beautiful. It was not the easiest piece of furniture to put together, but my husband and I got it done in a couple of hours. A piece of trim got split in the process but it’s not super visible so we aren’t too worried about it. Our daughter is really excited about the desk!

Tiaga Desk Navy
It was a 6th birthday gift for our son. It is well made with a rich blue color. Just lovely. He absolutely loves organizing his office supplies (stapler,hole punch, magnifying glass, paper) in the drawers and shelves. The desk has a hole for electrical cord which is perfect for his desk lamp. Nice quality.

Ordered the desks in blue
Ordered the desks in blue and white for 6-yr olds and they love them. My only complaint is that both arrived with some damage. A few small dented places on both—we decided to keep them anyway. They need better packing to prevent this. Otherwise really like them.

Nice Look, Manufacturing Errors & Missing Screws
I waited 6 months for this specific desk to become available again. As soon as it did, I ordered it right away. It was shipped to us and it is gorgeous. They manufactured pieces incorrectly and we can’t use the drawers. Also, the hutch was manufactured incorrect and we have no use of that either! There are many screws broken or missing, holes to receive screws were not made either. I love the aesthetics of this unit; however, the extended waiting and replacement is just not worth it. I’m disappointed!

Quality Product!
This is a solid sturdy desk and chair. Extremely satisfied with the purchase and quality, already recommended to a friend looking for a desk for her elementary school child. The hutch assembly was a little tricky, had to take it apart a couple times then use the picture to figure it out with the instructions, but at this price point I’m not complaining, this desk is a perfect addition to our daughters bedroom, exactly what we were looking for.
