Q: What is the depth of the longer desk portion (that runs the length of the bed)? See the side one is approx 16" wide but the other one looks more narrow. Please clarify on the product description.

Q: Can a 9-inch mattress be used instead of a 6-inch?

Stronger than other models but missing screws.

I bought at Target online this bed with a bookshelf (Full size loft bed with desk and storage shelf) and a second double door closet (Full size loft bed with desk and wardrobe closet). I will give a review for the first loft bed with bookshelf. It is made in Vietnam. This is stronger than the second, and it was easier to assemble, but it still took about 7 hours to fully assemble. It has a middle rail under the bed frame and the railings supporting the mattress are sturdier/stronger. One bad thing is that is missing the screws. I will ask TARGET and MODERNLUXE to send me the missing parts: one "D" bolt 1/4" x 70 mm. ; one "E" bolt 1/4" x 100 mm. and one "B" bolt 1/4" X 25 mm. and one "F" cross dowel 1/4"x 13mm. Without these parts, the whole bed is a little shaky. TARGET and MODERNLUXE if you really read customer reviews and really care, please, please, please, put extra bolts/screws inside the boxes in case your workers miscount the bolts.
