Gardein Ultimate Frozen Vegan Fried Chick'n Mac & Cheeze Bowl - 9oz

Was the worst smelling thing I’ve ever had from them! Never have I had a food that smelled like pure bile vomit. Came in a cheap paper bowl as well. How is this allowed?

Seriously one of the worst things I have ever smelled and tasted, I can’t even describe to you the toll this took on my body and my coworkers noses. I’d rather go back to eating animal products again than be in the same room as this thing. For the love of everything do not buy this.

I love that this is a super easy meal to make (perfect for sick or low energy weeks). The texture of the chicken and pasta is great, the cheeze sauce is a bit runny, but not a big deal to me. Personally I would add some steamed broccoli on the side (to mix in with the runny cheeze sauce) to add some fiber to this meal. Also, the sauce is a little salty, so a vegetable would help cut some of that saltiness. I would totally buy again, but I’ll probably wait for a sale since the price is a bit steep. Ultimately I think this is a great vegan option

Nope, not for me either, the cheese was way too strong for me. put me right off of it. Was really hoping to love this one but no can doesville! Thanks for trying new things but no thanks on this one

I wish it could be zero stars. I have never put something so rank in my body. It was a form of self harm. Stay away.

smells like vomit

Vomit… it’s true. I was excited to see this new item added to their bowl line! Been wanting to try it, a few weeks ago i was in the living room of a vegan friend and her and her boyfriend were in the kitchen heating up their meals… all of a sudden the stinging stench of vomit permeated through the air, i noticed she was eating this mac when i saw the packaging but didn’t know for sure if that’s what caused the smell. tonight i decided i would purchase this item and try, with the gamble that it may smell like puke and taste even worse, but the concept seemed perfect, so i was willing! i heated my meal up, buffalo sauce at the ready incase things seemed stinky… and well i had to open all my windows as the microwave struck zero, blast the fan and hit the air freshener, to be fair i thought maybe it still tastes good… i lifted the fork to my mouth and could not even finish the bite. i couldn’t even throw it in the bin, i had to go full diper change hazmat mode and get it out as soon as possible because the smell seemed to only get worse and worse. i was so hopeful i gave it the fullest chance!! please please run this through a few more trials it is the least edible vegan food i’ve had in the 5 years ive been one. on the other hand if you need to ruin someone’s day just make this in their apartment. ps i couldn’t give it 0 stars.

I love gardein products but this one is not good. even spices did not help with taste

Tried this after become lactose intolerant. The flavor of the “chicken” is actually really good! I couldn’t tell at all it was plant based which is incredible. The macaroni however was a tad disappointing. The flavor and consistency of the “cheese” sauce was all wrong compared to real cheese. Really made the overall satisfaction of the dish dip down. I know it’s hard to replicate but it was just super underwhelming. I would say give it a try but do not expect the cheese to taste like cheese.

terrible reviews but i personally like this - strangely more than real frozen mac and cheese? it’s not as good as a fresh real mac and cheese obviously, but i had this and the lean cuisine one and i genuinely like this one more. plus easiest instructions ever, you don’t even have to vent it

This item is one of my favorite microwave meals as a vegan, and that goes for my 10 year old as well. We really enjoy the Gardein meals as an occasional treat but we seem to get the most giddy whenever we have this one. Cheesy, comforting, nostalgic, guilty pleasure junk food... Please don't stop stocking it!

I was so excited to see this new product at my local Walmart! I was also very skeptical... but this turned out delicious! The best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had and I've had all the popular vegan boxed ones! The cheddar was creamy and flavour was on point (better than Daiya!). The nuggets are mushy because it's microwaved with the sauce, but the flavour and texture are still complimentary. Plus I'm happy with the 15g of protein it provides. Needless to say, I will definitely be purchasing again and again. Great job, Gardein team! Love seeing the new products. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love other Gardein products, but this tastes so bad I couldn't even eat it, and had to throw it away. The flavor is nothing like mac & cheese. The nuggets are soggy. If you want a vegan mac, there are much better options. This is inedible.

Absolutely disgusting. Smells like bowling alley rental shoes. Texture is also off. Someone at corporate made a bad decision with this one. I'm tempted to drive to home office and confront whoever let this slide on the market. I threw it straight in the trash. Waste of money. DISCONTINUE NOW!

I love Gardein so much it has been a huge lifesaver on numerous occasions but I’m sorry this tastes just like when you vomit up bile and smells like it too. The texture is also just mush unfortunately.
