The idea is great, but the execution was not. I honestly regretted the calories as I was eating it. It tastes like sweet mochi outside, and very very average chicken bits and carrots inside.

Well Balanced Quality
The reviews were so mixed while deciding whether to purchase this item or not so I went with it and tried it myself. BEST DECISION! It was crispy on the outside while gooey inside and the Kung Pao flavors were balanced. I thoroughly enjoyed it. TRY IT!

The visual appeal of the food is weird for me no matter from northern or southern China, and the KongPao isn't tasted quite well. A more traditional Sichuan glutinous rice dish is brown sugar ciba, but this kind of food is very difficult to reproduce through quick-freezing. Even if it is made into a frozen product, the texture and mouthfeel are significantly compromised. KongPao is good with rice not filled in mochi or stickyrice ball.

Good stuff
So good. Chewy and slightly sweet mochi shell, lightly spiced and fragarent filling inside. Unique and not an item found at other stores. Gives me a reason to go back to Target!

Hmmmm yummy! VERY Differrent!!
I toasted these gently in a pan with a tsp of ghee. The way I had leaned into with all of these delectable snacks. You can say air fry and so on but air frying does not do these snacks any favors. It dries them out and they don’t have any good flavor. You get 8 and I’d say that’s perfect for 2 people to share. Anyway, they toasted up nicely and are delicious. One side is a bit crisp from cooking and the top is fluffy and so mochi like but HOT from heat. The interior is slightly sweet and wonderful with the exterior texture. BE SURE to let these cool before you bite into them!! They retain heat and will burn your mouth.

EXCELLENT crispy, subtly spicy appetizers or side dishes
I tried these on a whim (since I didn't even know what "mochi" was, but like Kung Pao chicken) and LOVED them - just added more to my cart! I used my air fryer and they were crispy on the outside (LOVE the dough) with yummy fillings on the inside. They're spicy without being overpowering (or so hot you can't even really taste them). They're a bit expensive at $6 for 8 of them, but I will be stocking up every time they go on sale!
