Well, there is a reason these are inexpensive -- they are NOT really cards. The paper, in fact, is lighter weight than cardstock. These are nothing more than paper that is ruled. If you are hoping for a sturdy index card that doesn't bend easily -- this is NOT it...

The paper is not as thick as the name brand but it works perfectly for toddler water colors. I use these to draw pictures with sharpies and my toddler uses water colors on the pictures. Inexpensive and perfect!

These cards are very rough and thin. They weight is so insubstantial, it’s like someone took some rough recycled paper and cut them down to card-sized. Most of my pens won’t even write on them. Ended up buying some ‘heavy duty’ index cards elsewhere otherwise we would be forced to use pencils, which we don’t typically have in the house

These were larger than I expected, as I didn't realize that the standard size for an index card was 3 x 5. These are still usable, but the measurement is helpful to keep in mind in case you use an index card case meant for the standard size. It could be helpful if you have a lot to write on the back; for my purposes, I prefer the 3 x 5 standard size.
