Extremely Disappointed with Target’s Product and Customer Service

This was my first ever purchase from Target, and unfortunately, it will also be my last due to an extremely disappointing experience. The problems started when I received the couch missing one of four boxes. I had guests over the same day and was embarrassed to let them sit on the floor. I contacted Target, and they said the missing box would arrive the next day. When it finally did, it was severely damaged, and I had to call again. The packaging was destroyed before I even opened it, and so when I called they said I could either drop it to the store in it’s original packaging and unassembled to which I explained to them in the beginning that I do not have a car and that it was my first apartment and I had no one to help me drop it at store they also said I could get it picked up by the same thing packaged in it’s original packaging which was not possible because the packaging came destroyed from the first place and that also meant that I would have to unassemble the couch, which I had already put together, causing significant time and effort. The couch was also wobbly, and I had to call Target multiple times about that as well. When I finally received the final box, it still had a missing piece. I even visited a physical Target store, where the team leader spent an hour calling the Target call center five times, expressing her own frustration at the poor customer service. Every single employee I spoke to repeated the same thing, and some were extremely rude, while others showed no care for my frustration or my decision never to shop at Target again. In the end, I was told the missing piece would take 5–10 business days to arrive, and the wobbliness was considered normal, which is unacceptable for a couch that cost over $700. This entire experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I will not be purchasing from Target again.

I was looking for something of good quality and on a budget and this indeed was it! I got it while it was on sale and it fits into my space perfectly. The assembly was also pretty simple, it was delivered in a total of 5 boxes; altogether with the unboxing it took just about two hours to put together. It’s super comfy and roomy, at least 3-4 people could sit comfortably. The ottoman adds for extra space too! Overall, I’ve had it for two weeks now and so far I love it :)

This sofa is really pretty and soft and I love the color. I just put this together. The assembly is slide in which is great for apartments because you can take it apart and put it back together. The fabric is also nice. Very pleased with this purchase for the price.
