Description

About the Book

In "12 Simple Words," John W. Kennedy critiques modern communication, urging readers to prioritize understanding over blame and advocating for genuine dialogue in a world overwhelmed by noise." --NewInBooks.com

Book Synopsis

One of the things that drives John W. Kennedy the craziest and increases his personal cynicism is the fact that we do not communicate anymore. This sounds odd in a world full of communication devices, but 'talking at' is not 'talking with' others. We always look to find someone to blame instead of listening and trying to understand another's POV. Most of the time, blame is never the answer needed to act, but something to deal with after the solution is found. Debate and arguments have value when they do not become personal. He has changed his approach many times in life, when someone convinced him of a better solution. We must stop making broad assertions and assumptions based on factors out of one's own control. We need to decide that groups are made up of individuals that have differing life experiences. We can embrace and learn from many.

Review Quotes

Book Review: "12 Simple Words" by John W. Kennedy is a thought-provoking exploration of communication in a world saturated with noise yet devoid of meaningful dialogue. Kennedy's candid reflections challenge the reader to reconsider how we engage with one another, emphasizing the importance of listening over assigning blame. He deftly argues that personal connection and understanding are essential in navigating our differences. This insightful memoir not only critiques contemporary communication but also offers a blueprint for genuine interaction. It's a compelling read for anyone seeking to foster empathy in an increasingly polarized world." --NewInBooks.com

I selected BookBaby due to the fact that they provide a personal approach followed up by the ability to produce all aspects of my book in-house. This was very important to me as a first-time author who needed the support to drive a successful published entity. Add to that their tack record with several of my professional connections (i.e. The BUM Book Series) and that sealed the deal for me.

About the Author

John W. Kennedy is a life-long resident of Madison, New Jersey and a proud 3rd generation Madison High School Dodger. He was an athlete through high school, college, and beyond and he's still 'hitting balls', skiing, and bike riding...just a bit slower. John W.
