I love the color of these candles because when lit they give off a very nice glow. However, in my opinion, the scent is very strong, almost like men's cologne. I don't care for the strong scent much, and I was hoping it smelled more like vanilla. But if you like a more masculine scent, these candles are definitely good for that.

The Threshold tealights are an affordable way to sample some of the numerous candle scents offered in this line. The throw is not too strong, but stil provides a good idea of how the scent would be in a larger version of the candle. I've found the tealights to burn for 3 or 4 hours each. I'd like to see the Threshold line offer more of their popular scents in the tealight size.

How I wish, so deeply in my spirit, that I'd had the same experience that other buyers apparently had. These tealights (I'd tried 2 before running, not walking, to the Customer Service desk) do NOOOOOT have any smell. At all. I'd for yrs been in love with Threshold's Vanilla Bean & Amber, just the wax melt version, and since without saying it out loud the store's doing away with all those, I decided to try the tealights... All's I can say, thank God for a super generous, more than reasonable Return Policy. NOW, what am I going to do?

I don’t care for the amber scent, I wish there was a simple vanilla option. The tealights are super pretty burning in a clear glass holder or just on their own, because they have a clear outer, not aluminum like most tealights out there. They seem to burn quickly but I didn’t time it or anything like that. I’d buy them again for the aesthetic because I really prefer the look of the clear encasement each candle is poured in. I usually place tealights in empty jars like baby food, olive, or jelly jars, etc. and it makes it look more high end overall.

If you’re picky about scents, these are for you. Not sweet, not cloying, not fake-smelling. They smell… pretty. Soft, balanced. Peaceful, somehow. Everyone who comes to my house comments on how lovely it smells. Burn one in a small to med sized room and the place will smell fabulous.
