14.5" Lava Lamp Iridescent - LAVA: Hand-Painted, Electric Wax Motion Light for Teens

AWESOME base! The globe on this one was cloudy, so I exchanged it in the store for a new one which was clear. Might be one of my favorite color combinations even if it's a bit more subtle than other lava lamps. This lamp has purple fluid and white wax. It's OK to ask the cashier to look inside the package at checkout to be sure you have one that's not cloudy.

Yall. I just ordered my 4th one for pick up (after reading this you would’ve thought i’ve learned my lesson by now but I digress) and I am praying to the lava gods this one works. The past 3 have not worked. I’ve owned lava lamps since I was a kid and I am fully aware you are supposed to leave it on and still for up to 8 hours for the lava to fully melt for the first time. I did that with all 3 and not a single one flowed like lava in a lava lamp should. It looked chunky and terrible. What’s ironic is I bought 3 and none worked and then my sister bought the same one and it works perfectly. I guess you just have to be blessed by the lava gods when you pick out your box. Choose wisely, or don’t at all lol. If this one does not work (first I will return it) but I will literally be so convinced that the world just doesn’t want me to enjoy a cool light fixture like this. In all seriousness though, do not buy. Not worth it. Go buy a nicer one from Amazon.

I read the reviews saying it was bad but wanted it so bad I figured I would try it anyhow. I’m not sure about the wax being bad, but the base is trash. I noticed something on it and lightly ran my nail across it. It left a mark. I scratched my nail in another spot just to check and sure enough it made a scratch. This is cheap as heck and will be destroyed if you even attempt to move it around or ever clean the dust off. It’s going back. 😑

I was SO excited when I saw this in the store but now I’m wishing I read the reviews before buying. The liquid inside is SO cloudy. I decided to bring it to the store and exchange for a different one but same issue. It’s been plugged in for HOURS and you can barely make out the “lava” moving in there, which barely even moves at all. I’m letting it cool and then restarting as suggested in the pamphlet included but if that doesn’t help I’m returning it. So sad, if it actually looked like the photo on the box it would have been so cool *cries*

We gave it a full 24 hours plugged in, and although it’s had plenty of time to heat the wax, it has stayed in a weird stiff formation and never fully melted.

It was fine for a couple months but stopped working

Basically broke immediately. Very disappointed.

Stopped working after the first use. Looks pretty but never turned liquid again after being turned on the second time and only burned the "lava"

This lava lamp is so beautiful but so disappointing. The "lava" seems more like crappy wax that makes weird shapes but doesn't ever seem to turn to bubbles. Sometimes vaguely phallic in shape, it's disturbing. I live the color of the liquid and the wax. It looks like a gorgeous sunset. Too bad the wax seems like it is the wrong consistency.

It only lasted a few months then inside came apart with no way to fix it.

It came super cloudy and it takes song time to clear the cloudiness of a lava lamp plus you can barely see the wax with the magenta it’s a cream white. I was expecting light pink and dark purple. I wouldn’t mind the magenta if the lamp wasn’t foggy. I’ll be returning

I bought 2 and love them. One had a coil issue but i was refunded and able to order a new one. They are easy to set up just make sure to follow directions and inspect the coil carefully before use

I don't know if it's the color combination of white wax and purple liquid but you can't see when it bubbles. These are the original brand that makes the lava lamp so I expected it to be good. I ended up getting a different color at Spencer's but it was the same exact brand. That one is great and what I was expecting. So I think it's the white wax and purple liquid. It makes it too hard to see the wax. It just looks like a very cloudy purple substance.

I enjoyed the lava lamp it took two days to warm the Wax up to optimum globular state but afterwards the true Ooozey-Gooey Stretchy Artistry and Beautiful Orange in Purple liquid was so satisfying you find your self watching it for long periods of time.

The lamp was beautiful but unfortunately arrived broken. The glass portion could not be safely stabilized because the metal holder was broken.

This is a great lava lamp for a good price. Lava lamps are sensitive to temperature. If your lava lamp never seems to "get started" or seems "stuck" ... wrap the glass part in TIN FOIL and this will help it warm up. Lamps run best in 68F degrees. In my cold home, this lava lamp never got going even after 2 hours, it got stuck so just 15 min of tin foil got it "moving" as it should. NEVER shake them (wax will break up) & best not to move them when they are on. The container gets very hot so never leave unattended & don't run them near drapes or put on fabric. There is a round wire "inside" the glass that helps the wax to warm up. It should lay flat on the bottom. Lamps are meant to be run for 6 to 8 hours. When the wax is stuck at the top, then lamp is too hot and it's time to turn it off ... to use again when it's fully cooled down. Warm wax rises to the top (because heat expands and rises). At the top, the wax cools and falls down to the bottom where it is heated once again. When the lamp gets too hot, the wax can no longer cool (even at the top) and it will just stay stuck. Over time, you will get to know your particular lava lamp and what works best with it. They are well worth a bit of patience and extra care.

The colors were like what were pictured on box. It performs like a lava lamp, my granddaughter loves it

I bought this got my 8 year old's birthday as he is special needs and this is a good calming sensory item. The liquid is so foggy you cannot see the pale white wax inside. The box says purple liquid with pink lava, but it's more like pink liquid with white/opaque lava. Pic was taken after 4 1/2 hours on. You can only barely make out the whitish lava at the top of the second pic.

First lava lamp was cracked, so we returned it. Second attempt failed too—lava wouldn’t ever rise as if the liquid never got hot enough, or perhaps the lava itself was defective. At this point, we are giving up.

I love the colors and it’s very relaxing to watch. This 32 year old feels 12 again 🙂
