Agree with others.. not a lava lamp that flows blobs the way you expect, just an experiment, yellow from vegetable oil, just buy a lava lamp!
Junk of an item! Needs to be taken of shelves.

This item was complete junk. Followed directions and nothing happened. The light wasn't bright enough to heat the oil mixture up to create bubbles, despite trying brand new batteries. No amount of trying would get this to work. I could have saved $5 and just bought an actual lava lamp for $15 but I thought this would be cool for my kids and I to build. It wasn't! Save your money. Don't buy this junk.

DO NOT BUY. This is the biggest waste of money and the 3 minutes it takes to put together. The lamp works for 30 seconds when you put the activator in and then you must keep reopening it the sprinkle in more activator if you want it to bubble. NOTHING like a lava lamp. I should have read the reviews. It’s on its second day here and it’s already in the trash

This thing is horrible. I wish I read the reviews but it’s actually worse than the worse review. Followed the directions and was left with an ugly mess inside a lava lamp
No good

Absolute garbage. No where does it say on the box that it's a 3 minute chemical reaction that you have to repeat multiple times. Not a real lava lamp, completely disposable. Stickers and instructions are terrible.

What a joke of a product. It does not work well at all and is nothing like an actual lava lamp.

Did not work! Bubbled once after we waited a long time and swirled it, then nothing. The on switch sometimes changed the color but never would turn off. My granddaughter had fun making it but was very disappointed that it did not function and also that it would be temporary if it ever did (not like a real lamp at all). Returning! Don't buy!

We followed the instructions but ended up with a lamp with no lava globs. It’s very disappointing, I wish it had worked out because my niece really wanted a lava lamp and the thought of decorating her own was very cool.

Straight to trash. “Lamp” part won’t even snap into the base. Got no “lava” globs. It was just effervescent for a while.

The stickers don’t line up well at all and the activator I received was rock hard marking it impossible to blend together. It’s honestly a waste! Save your money!

Between stickers not covering correctly, amounts not adequately filling the bottle and the oil leaking like crazy leaving oil on the counter wherever you set it. My daughter agreed to just throw it away. The “lava” effect was so minimal and didn’t really work, I feel like alkaseltzer tabs would have done more. Color were off too! Overall I agree with many other reviewers. We are just buying a real lava lamp.

I wish I had read the reviews on this product before allowing my daughter to buy it as a gift for my other daughter. It barely worked for 4 minutes and now we'd have to do it all over again. No thanks! It's a complete waste of money and I like science type things for kids but this product is extremely misleading. I'd return it if I could.

This was pretty dumb. Wastes a ton of vegetable oil. It's not easy to put together in the first place and it bubbles for maybe 5 minutes. Then it's over and you have to completely redo it again if you want to. My daughter just told me to throw it out. She doesn't even want to do it another time. Waste of money.

The stickers are impossible to put on. The LED isn't bright. The "lava" works for a couple minutes and then you have a bottle of oil. Just buy a real lava lamp.

Terrible waste of money and I agree with another review, just buy a real one. Got this for my daughter’s 9th birthday and quit working within minutes! Ugh I should have just gotten a real one instead of wasting $20.
