This is certainly not dishwasher safe. All the brown coloring has chipped off

The website listing says you can put them in the dishwasher, the sticker on the cups says hand wash only. Also when I was taking the stickers off of the bottom, just washing them and soaking in dawn scrubbed off the color on the base of the cup.

Took the sticker tag off and pulled all the brown off the glass. Made the bottom of the glass clear. Horrible quality.

Pretty pricey for how bad they peel. I got rid of all of my old cups and replaced my entire cup cabinet with these and all the color is peeling off. I’ve only had them for less than six months. Do not buy these.

Loved them, bought them, bought more , after several washes they are flaking off and peeling gross .. pathetic

Not real colored glass. Covered in a colored film that is flaking after just a few months. The Hearth & Hand line has been seriously disappointing at every turn, cheap products and no quality control.

I believe all the bad reviews. The cup sticker says “Cold drinks only”, so I can only guess that the film is coming off because people might be using hot water to wash the glass, or a dishwasher to dry the glass with heat. Which then causes the film to loosen and peel off. I’ve also seen a similar issue mentioned with the Ball mason jars in purple. The best I can say is that if you want the color to stay on, hand-wash in cold water only, only use the glass for cold drinks, and use a straw to drink out of it. Once the film starts peeling, use heat to get the rest of it off, and then use the glass as a “regular” glass with no color… or just use it as a flower vase. Beyond that, it’s time to start complaining to Joanna Gaines directly. This quality issue has been going on for years. It’s wrong to treat consumers like this.

Purchased in yellow, and the color started to peel off after first wash! Total waste of money.

Why isn’t the glass itself colored? What is this film on it made of? I will never trust Hearth & Hand glass items again.

love the glasses, but the color is some sort of film cover. it peels off. For the amount of $$ spent for each glass, this is very disappointing. the description says theyre made from 100% recycled glass, there is no mention of a film.

Sturdy, great quality, and CUTEEEE. I’m obsessed with these!

I just read the reviews and discovered that the glasses are faulty!!!!!!! There should be a recall on these. Who wants to ingest any foreign material these days. Target, you should be doing better than this and so should Hearth and Hand!!!!!

Its a brown coating that flakes off

The glass is beautiful! Its the packaging I have the problem with, they through them individually wrapped in paper into a box, so they bounced around durning shipping. I better not find one broken or cracked!

Brown is a paint that flakes off after a few uses. The glasses are well made and I truly love them besides the weird brown coating. Not happy that I now risk consuming whatever this paint/ brown seal is instead of the glass having just been brown itself.

Do not waste your money. I purchased in store so sadly I didn’t see the bad reviews. Same thing happened to us. The color is a film and it started peeling off very shortly after purchasing. So disappointed in the quality.

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased 4 last night. Very disappointed. They may be recycled glass BUT the brown color is a coating and peeled off when I washed them the first time.
