Q: Specs state that the max weight per shelf is 20 pounds. I am assuming that refers to the shelf in the middle of the cabinet. 20 pounds isn't much. Can the base "shelf" hold more than 20 pounds?

The cabinet is as described. It is made of partical board and it is HEAVY. The instructions were fairly easy to follow and I was able to put together but myself, except for a couple of assists to hold boards in place while I screwed them on. I'm really happy with it.

Great craft room storage cabinet

The assembly of the cabinet was very straightforward. Instructions for assembly were easy to understand. Good quality cabinet and good value for the price. Delivery was quick. It is a very heavy item as packaged (104 lbs), so plan to open the box and move the parts one by one to where you want to assemble and install the cabinet.
