Perfect First Pencil for Little Hands
I’ve used these Ticonderoga My First Pencils with both of my kids, and they’ve been wonderful for learning how to write. I first used them with my daughter when she was around seven and developing her handwriting, and now I’m using them with my four-year-old son as he starts learning to write. The thicker size is perfect for little hands and makes it much easier for kids to hold the pencil comfortably and develop a proper grip. They feel sturdy, sharpen well, and the lead writes smoothly without constantly breaking. I especially love that they give younger children more control and confidence while practicing letters and writing. After using them with both of my kids, these have definitely become my go-to beginner pencils. I would highly recommend them for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and any child who is just starting to work on pencil grip and handwriting.

These thicker pencils are AMAZING! My son who’s autistic loves them to draw. So much easier to grasp and no broken tips too often.

These are great for preschool age children that are developing proper grip. I have worked in education for 20yr and buy these for my own children. They work even better as they go down in length.

Awful new yellow paint is too slick to hold.
The yellow paint coating is so slick you can't keep hold of the pencil. Our old Ticonderogas had a grippier texture. These are like glass. Awful for beginning writers

Adaptive Pencils
They write smooth erase cleanly, but the included pencil sharpener doesn't put a good point on the pencil. Buy the Up&Up two hole manual pencil sharpener instead of fussing around with the included one.

Pencils for Kindergarten
This pencil is an excellent choice for students who are just learning how to write and grip the pencils for their letters and numbers. Its quality makes it a reliable tool for practice and helps in developing proper writing skills. Plus, as part of a starter kit, it sets a solid foundation for their learning journey.

Perfect pencil for beginners
Great pencils for kids who are just starting to learn how to hold pencils and trace. The lead holds up really good and doesn’t break off easily. My kids are learning how to trace and they can be a little rough on the pencil but it holds up and doesn’t break.

really great pencils, no complaints!
we love these pencils! they are fat enough to aid with my little one's grips and they are sturdy and sharpen easily. these are all issues we have with other pencils. the tip on this stays put and is never wobbly or broken, the wood doesn't flake - it is smooth when cut. the erasers are substantial for lots of erasing. overall, these are a nice pick, and I'm glad we found them for school activities!

Perfect for Little Hands!
I bought the Ticonderoga My First Pencil from Target for my kindergartener, and it’s been a great choice. The thicker barrel is ideal for young children who are just learning how to write—it helps them hold the pencil correctly and comfortably. The lead is strong and writes smoothly, and the eraser is soft and effective. Plus, it came pre-sharpened, which was super convenient. Great quality as always from Ticonderoga, and easy to find at Target!

Perfect pencils!
I don’t write a lot of reviews, but these deserve one. These things HOLD UP. They sharpen so smoothly, write smoothly, are the perfect thickness for little hands to hold when learning pencil grip. We’ve had the same one out for two years (homeschooling) and it’s still going strong. I’m so impressed and will buy this brand forever.
