It may help a child learn to hold their pencil better? Debatable though. The colors are nice and the price is pretty good. HOWEVER the ERASURES are awful and just result in dark smears across the paper—leaving the paper looking pretty messy—and, one upset 6 year old!

Elementary teacher here, and these are the only pencils that I use now, especially when I’m using the document camera to model writing. The grip is great and they last a long time because the thick lead rarely breaks. They do smudge, but the pros overshadow that con for me.

I know these are intended for younger kids that are learning to write but I wish they made these with the thinner lead too. I think the pencil itself is comfortable to use and easier on adult hands because it's like a wide pencil. I'm not as in love with the larger lead HB size because then it forces me to write bigger. I use a lot of post it notes all other small paper notes so it feels like I'm using up too much of the paper real estate.
