Minka Aire is my favorite fan and light kit. The light is LED and the fan moves air very well. I keep coming back to this contractor pack fan for the last 10 years to replace out of date fans.

For the looks and functionality it has a 5 STAR. I was unhappy with the size of the down rod (pole that holds the fan), It was too short so over all 4 stars. when I arrived home to see the installed fan it was too high. The fan offers great ventilation but it was too high on my ceiling. I had to order a longer down rod and now have to schedule for the electrician to fix with the correct down rod. None the less I love the look and feel of the fan!!

I had 5 of these installed by the builder all in bedrooms. The fans and lights are almost never used. One of the LED lights just stopped working. So much for 10,000 hours. The house is only 3 years old. The worst part is I cannot find a replacement part anywhere and I am now facing the prospect of having to take the perfectly good fan with no light out and replacing the entire unit.

The only reason I didn't give 5* is, I feel like a longer down rod should have been included to be more representative of the advertised photo. I realize it can be purchased outside the box but all in all this is a very good buy well worth it. I was surprised how much air flow the fan created on medium so we keep it on the low setting and it makes hardly any noise.We would recommend to our friends.

Opened the box at 1:15, done by 3:45. Installed on a beam in a log home. Just me and my wife and a ladder. Best advice: read the installation and figure out your next moves on the ground, not up on the ladder. One item not in the installation instructions: the fan motor has five black plastic spacers. They have to be removed before putting on the blades. I removed them one at a time because the spacers seemed to keep the motor centered while a few blades were on. I turned on the wall switch, hit the lamp button on the remote: super bright. Then turned on the fan - as the instructions said, the motor tried both directions a few times and then settled into the speed I chose, 2 of 6. Strong enough to cool off the room.
