Very Disappointed
I have had player since July of 2025. My initial impressions of player was very positive. October 3, 2025 or so player has on screen controls and the only way to disable it is to turn off the HDMI Controller. I have a tv that doesn’t have an input button on remote and if HDMI Controller is off player will not show up as an option. Not sure why a player that’s been on market for years has such an issue. There is nothing on support page addressing the issue.

We could recommend using the player remote for the TV commands as well by programming it: input the 2-digit code for your TV brand while pressing power button of TV operation button on the remote control. Seems like it was designed in 2005
Obsolete product, the software is archaic, you can’t add any apps other than what is preinstalled. The remote cannot be programmed to work any other equipment. As a streaming device the Netflix video quality is noticeably worse than Apple TV. Works only well as a player.

EXCELLENT VIDEO & SOUND, BUT SUBPAR REMOTE CONTROL
Excellent sound and picture degraded by a subpar remote control. I congratulate Panasonic for putting so much effort into creating this product. After reading the negative comments about the remote I made an extra effort to avoid the mistake, but to no avail. The buttons on the remote are small and close together. And when one toggles up and touches the larger Netflix button above it, then the controls go to the Netflix site. Every time I have used this product, no matter how I try, the Netflix button is mistakenly pushed. Another issue is that instructions are not written by a person who speaks english as their first language therefore, set up is impeded by vague instructions that at times can't be understood. OVERALL I am glad to have purchased the 4k Blu-Ray player BUT MUST ASK PANASONIC TO MAKE A MORE USER FRIENDLY REMOTE CONTROL TO REPLACE THE CURRENT SUBPAR REMOTE.

Great Product
Plays everything I put into it beautifully, no freezing on the big 4K discs, makes regular blu rays look amazing, and has easy settings to make DVDs look great too

Good picture and sound. No faster than my 10 year old player accessing discs. Remote Control is Awful!
I'm very happy with the 4K picture on my new Nexigo projector. The pair works great going thru my Marantz AV7705 using 8K HDMI cables. I was a bit disappointed that accessing the discs is no faster than my old LG blu-ray player. I'm very disappointed with the remote that comes with this. The buttons are not intuitive enough to operate in the dark with NO BACKLIGHT. The Netflix button is positioned so that you hit it frequently when trying to pause the movie, then you're stuck spending minutes recovering after turning on the lights to find the correct buttons to push. It's so bad that I ordered a clone of the back-lit 9000 remote control. This is a frequent complaint on AV forums.

My 4K Player Review
Absolutely beautiful picture and amazing sound quality. Works extremely well with my OLED TV. VERY impressed. Only your UB9000 beats this product. Thank you for providing these players for folks who KNOW that hardware is the way to go for best picture and sound. Long live 4K BluRays and Panasonic players for thee best quality!! Great Player!
I am re-dedicating myself to Blue-Ray for my film collection (thank you, Nolan and del Toro!), and wanted as much of a no-limits player as I could find at this price point. After comparing various models, I find that the Panasonic offers me the best combination of features and price. The product quality is very high, and I recommend it to anyone in similar circumstances!

Wonderful piece of goods, even if I only use a fraction of its capabilities...... Problems? CEC connection kept turning my TV on even though all i wanted to do was listen to a CD thru the optical output....I think I fixed that at the TV..... Interface is OK, but nowhere in the screens are Model and Serial #........Had to dig the box out of the trash to find THAT. Since the player was secured in the TV stand. Good fidelity running thru an external DAC. Picture wonderful on a well produced Blue Ray. But I need to get a 4k with HDR to see what this can REALLY do..... Runs cool, so far, which is to the good. I may have to back thru the original setup screen to completely turn the screen OFF. Annoying, at some times. And the 'helps' say it may even cause some kind of interference, which is very unacceptable.....
