Book Synopsis

Prince Yolotzin and his childhood friend Kajaan pledged themselves to each other as boys, but their childhood fantasy fell apart when the prince met his Fated. Even though he's heartbroken, Kajaan plans to continue serving his prince and holding out hope that his own Fated might appear one day. But the king has other plans, and Kajaan is sent on a mission from which he is never meant to return. After barely escaping with his life, Kajaan has no one to turn to except the intimidating King Cadeyrn.

Cadeyrn never expected to find love again after the death of his wife, and he contented himself with serving his kingdom and raising his children, ignoring his loneliness and longing. The last thing he expects is to find his Fated in the sharp-witted redhead on the run from assassins. As both men slowly heal from their losses and grow closer, a deadly plot that runs much deeper than Kajaan ever suspected threatens their relationship, their lives, and both kingdoms.

Kajaan and Cadeyrn will need old and new allies to face what's coming, and Kajaan will need to find the power buried in himself... power that might have been intentionally kept from him... to save both the new family he's building and his oldest friend.

About the Author

AR Bryant has frequently been accused of having their head in the clouds, and quite frankly, it's a lot more fun up there! For as long as they can remember, they have loved telling stories. They wrote their first story in the third grade, and it involved the Backstreet Boys going to the moon. AR is a PNW cryptid who loves the rain, windstorms, sandy beaches, and redwood forests.

They currently guard their book hoard alongside their dog while their two cats get annoyed when AR tries to write, reducing their lap time. If they're not reading or writing, AR is likely playing on their Switch, cross-stitching, or playing their ranger-druid in D&D with their friends. Their favorite genre, in basically everything, is fantasy. More dragons please!
