So good!
While nothing says that this is part of a series, I would recommend reading A Healing Touch, first, as we visit the same area and the same people. A Hidden Hope will make more sense if you do. This book by Suzanne Woods Fisher continues following Dok Stolzfus. I have really enjoyed the characters in these books. They are warm and caring. The introduction of 3 new characters really gave the story a shake up. All of the personalities are contained in the 3, and I think you’ll really like them. Poor Annie is still dealing with motion sickness. How can she be an EMT? Dok is still overworked and understaffed. It was so good to return to Stoney Ridge. If you enjoy Amish books that aren’t quite the norm, have some unexpected twists, and of course sweet romance, then do read A Hidden Hope. I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review. All thoughts are my own

God doesnt give up on us.
A book like no other I’ve read before. Two recently graduated med students, one at the top of the class and the other at the bottom, start their residency at a rural Amish community. Much human interaction is needed to be learned by these two. Ruth Doc Stoltzfus has much advice for them if only they would listen. Add an office manager, Annie, and a new nurse graduate, Evie and the stage is set for much learning and wisdom to be imparted. Every situation doesn’t have the expected outcome and the reader is left to figure out how some will eventually be settled, which is a good thing for this reader’s imagination. I found some deep spiritual aspects to be learned and some eye opening revelations that have helped me grow as a person along with the characters. A story I won’t soon forget. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review.

A touching Amish tale!
A Hidden Hope by Suzanne Woods Fisher takes us back to Stoney Ridge where we get to catch up with Dok Stoltzfus, Annie, Bishop David Stoltzfus (Dok’s brother), Fern Lapp (a dear), and we cannot forget Hank Lapp (who stills YELLS EVERY WORD). There are some new characters as well. Dok gets a traveling nurse, Evie, and two newly graduated doctors who are ready to do their residency. I liked Charlie, but Wren is a piece of work. I had a feeling that there was a reason Wren chose to come to Stoney Ridge, and it would not make Dok happy. I felt for Dok who is hoping to get her workload lightened with the extra help. Dok cares for her patients and wants them to get the best care. I enjoyed A Hidden Hope from beginning to end. The story is beautifully written with developed characters. There is plenty going on to keep the story lively. Annie’s mother has not changed her hypochondriac ways, and the two new residents do not help the situation. I like that the author addresses post-partum depression and how severe it can get. Annie has a challenge of her own to overcome and it may affect the plans she has for her future. I like the relationship Dok has with her brother and with her husband. I hope that the author continues to take us to Stoney Ridge for her heartwarming and inspiring stories. A Hidden Hope is a touching tale with EMT training, bothersome residents, a helpful traveling nurse, a basement transformation, twin troubles, wifely advice, a file fiasco, and aiding patients.
