Q: Do your cows spend all their life in the barn or do they have free range time?
A: The humane treatment of animals is of the utmost importance to us. All our farms are trained and audited for the humane treatment of animals by Validus. Our cows are not treated with growth hormone rBST.

Q: Is this milk non gmo?
A: Except our Grassfed milk, some of our cows’ diet could include GMO corn. An adequate diet that is free from any genetically modified ingredients is hard to come by in large quantities in the USA. We require that our farmers feed their cows an all-vegetarian, plant-based diet and are independently certified by the Validus Group for animal welfare. Our a2 Milk® Grass Fed is Non-GMO Project Verified.

Q: Is this casein free?
A: Hi there, all a2 Milk® products are not casein free. There are two main types of beta-caseins: A1 and A2 beta-casein protein. Most cows’ milk sold in the US naturally contains a blend of A1 and A2 proteins. Our milk is sourced from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein type and no A1. Q: Is this low fat milk
A: Thanks for your question, we appreciate hearing from our customers! Our 2% Milk is reduced fat and has 44% less fat than Whole Milk. It is not considered Low Fat Milk, which would be any milk with 1% fat content or lower. At this time, we don't have any plans to add 1% milk to our products. However, you can follow us on our social media channels for exciting product updates!

Q: In a question above, you stated this is not a UHT milk, but your label says "ultra-pasteurized." Isn't that UHT milk?
A: While similar, our milk is Ultra-Pasteurized (UP) which means it is heated to a minimum of 280f, and held for 2 seconds. UHT is where milk is heated to temperatures between 275f-300f for a minimum of 2 seconds then its cooled.

Q: is this milk homogenized ?
A: Hi There - Yes all a2 Milk® products are homogenized to blend the natural fat found in milk, throughout the fluid portion of milk so it doesn’t separate when it sits on the shelf.

Q: Is this milk 3.25% homogenized?
A: Hi there, our milk is 3.5 %. We add a little extra to cover the California requirements. Homogenization is a process used to blend the natural fat found in milk, throughout the fluid portion of milk so it doesn’t separate when it sits on the shelf. Homogenized milk generally has a longer shelf life than un-homogenized milk. Most milk available in the US is homogenized.

A: HI Steve, a2 Milk® is real cows’ milk. While we’re not seeking organic certification at this point, our milk is free of growth hormone rBST. In addition, all our family farms are independently certified by the Validus Group to ensure they meet strict animal welfare guidelines.
