Description
The Bedside Extend-A-Rail from Able Life is a versatile bed rail for seniors, elderly, and anyone recovering from injury or surgery. The bed assist rail slides underneath the mattress and attaches to the bed with the included safety strap. The adjustable adult bed rail extends in length from 20 inches to 30 inches for full fall protection out of bed. When not extended, the guard rail can be used as a bed assist bar for support and balance sitting or standing. Use the handrail to easily transfer out of bed to a walker, rollator, wheelchair, or bedside commode. The safety railing can be used on twin, double, queen, king, and California king sized beds with mattresses between 8 and 15 inches thick. Easily install the safety railing underneath the mattress and securing the safety strap to the bed frame. Peace of mind.
I did put one side on so it telescopes in the wrong direction, but thankfully, it wasn't the side my Aunt gets in and out of. It did take two people to wrap the strap around the whole mattress. The main purpose is to let her feel the edge of the bed so she knows she isn't going to fall out of bed. She feels very good about it.

The features we needed
This bed rail is a bit wider than some and extendible as needed. Still it is easy to get out of bed as my husband slid off the bed while asleep and hit his head. Its height is better for a deep mattress than most others, and still is 5” or so above the mattress. It will gives enough protection for a deep sleeper to not slide out when moving or turning over. The metal part is easy to assemble but owing to the weight of our mattress I needed the assistance of a younger, stronger person to move the mattress in order to slide the strap between it and the box spring.

Exactly what we needed after a fall out out of bed
I purchased this bed rail and was able to install it myself, no tools needed. The extendable feature allows sitting or laying down on the bed. Also, it is easy to extend. This purchase really has given us some peace of mind.
