Long ago, humanity thrived and the earth was populated by eight billion people. But then came the manticore: giants with insatiable hunger who feed by assimilating corpses into their body. These giants were once ordinary animals--a possum, a dog, even a human being. But once infected, the hunger begins. And as a manticore feeds, it grows.

Acorn, a teenager living in the fortified town of Sanctuary, has been taught how to survive in this world overrun by manticore, though he's never seen one. When a young man escapes Sanctuary with an unspeakable plan--to become a manticore himself--Acorn joins the search party. Leaving home for the first time, he soon comes face-to-face with the nightmarish monsters that have brought mankind to the brink of extinction.

About the Author

J.T. Petty is a writer and director of films, TV, video games, and comics, including Secret Level, Love Death + Robots, Splinter Cell, Outlast, and Telltale's The Walking Dead series. His films have been featured at Sundance, SXSW, and the Toronto International Film Festival. He's hiding in Los Angeles.

Wook-Jin Clark was born in South Korea and raised in the Southern States. He currently lives in Georgia, where he serves as the associate chair of the sequential art department at Savannah College of Art and Design. He loves coffee, comics, and chicken biscuits.
