We really like this brand. I use it for biscuits and gravy, breakfast casseroles, & other meals. I’ve never had one even close to expiration date when I get it in the stores. It freezes well to if you want to use it later. It’s a healthier alternative to pork sausage for us. We use it 2 lbs about once a month.

SO MUCH added WATER!!!
They contain SO MUCH water!!! You end up with boiled sausage, no matter how you cook them. By the time you get some browning on them, you might as well eat some cardboard cause they are way overcooked. I even tried to drain the water after cooking them for a bit, in hope I would be able to brown them...nope...there was still water coming out of them! Also, the texture is more like a paste, rather than meat. The only saving grace is the flavor but who wants to eat flavored dry/boiled paste!?

Rotten, date was over month old
I bought yesterday, Sept 27, and the date on the package was best by Aug 22nd, I missed that but thats over month, why was it still out? I could tell it was bad as soon as I dropped it in pan to cook, and thats when I looked at date on package, whole house smelled rotten.

Expired meat
Meat was expired when I bought it. I didn’t look at the date close enough but it was runny and sludgy and clearly past when it should be used. I checked the date, it expired two days ago, I bought it today. This should not have been on the shelves.

This is the best tasting sausage!! Full of flavor and no nitrates or other preservatives. This is the same thing as Jennie O which cannot be found in our area. Please do not ever delete. I bought about 10 when I found it. Only sausage I could taste when I started getting my taste back due to covid. I can’t say enough positives for this sausage. Wish this brand would also do italian turkey sausage.

Terrible texture, no flavor
I don’t buy mass market sausage regularly, but needed some for a holiday brunch so thought I’d try this. I grew up with home grown/home butchered meats and homemade sausage, and I know the difference between good and not-good quality. It is inexpensive, so I wasn’t expecting gourmet level, but hoped for something adequate. The texture of this product is the worst part. It is like sticky toothpaste. Additionally, it has no discernible flavor. Very watery when cooking, and an all-around inferior product. The only positive is that it is a source of protein, but I hate that these animals gave their life for something so sub-standard. Will not buy again.
