Inconsistent sizing

I bought this skirt in red, blue and black- all in medium. They all fit differently! The blue was too big, red was perfect, and the black was too tight. Why are they different?? Inconsistent sizing sucks. I really want the yellow one but I have no clue what the sizing will be like.
