Q: Does AmLactin daily moisterizing lotion have an expiration date? I don't see anything on the container. Is there an expiration date on physician samples?

submitted by Maya - 5 years ago
  • A: There is a code on the bottom of the bottle that would tell us when it was made. The expiry would be calculated based on that date.

I honestly don’t know if it works because I can’t stand the smell so much I can’t use it. This sits on my desk and I want so badly to like it as I do think it would work, but the smell is horrible.

My go to exfoliating body product

5 out of 5 stars
Would recommend
jess - 13 days ago, Verified purchaser
First off, idk what everyone is talking about with the scent. It’s unscented. Next, people with sensitive skin are complaining. This contains an AHA in a concentration of 12%. If you have sensitive skin, you shouldn’t be using any lactic acid above 10%. This lotion, while very hydrating, is exfoliating. I use it on my back tattoo where I often break out (AHAs help slough away dead skin that can make a tattoo look dull), on my butt and back of my legs where I get folliculitis, on my crusty elbows that get weird blotchy bumps, and on my KP on my arms. It dries up any breakouts on my back and it reduces the inflammation in the folliculitis. It smooths out the KP with regular use. I only use it on areas that need chemical exfoliation, not my whole body. I don’t use it after shaving (it will burn). I like that it is a combined exfoliating and hydrating product vs me using an acid serum/toner on my problematic areas followed by moisturizer. It seems the bad reviews are coming from misuse/confused customers.

Red rash

LaurieAnn - 15 days ago, Verified purchaser
The first time I used this, my skin burned a little bit, but I just thought it was something I had to get used or would build up a tolerance for. After using for four days, I noticed a red rash all over my thighs. I’m evidently sensitive to the lactic acid or something else in the lotion. The smell is not good as people in other reviews mention. Hopefully my rash will go away. Yikes.

After about 1 week of using this it caused a rash on both arms in the crease. I also don’t notice a difference in my kp after one week of using. The smell is not too bad. Reminds me of a coco butter lotion.

I was so excited for this lotion after seeing it on a list of “best lotions for acne prone sensitive skin”. Put it on after my shower and it burns!! I didn’t like the smell, smells like chemicals, which should’ve been my first red flag. At first I thought maybe I have a cut or something there. No it just stings and burns everywhere. And my skin got instantly red and irritated. Be careful if you have sensitive skin!

This is a first experience review. Just put it on about ten minutes ago. It does burn a little. Not intolerably, but if you have sensitive skin take that into account. Also, this product does not smell nice. At all. It’s not strong, so it shouldn’t bother you, but definitely wait before getting up close and personal with anyone.

KP going away in a couple days

I didn't know anything could get rid of my keratosis pilaris, honestly. I've only been using this maybe three days (2x/day) and it's already improving. It makes my skin feel really soft and moisturized. My clothes don't snag on my KP anymore, it's fantastic. Hopefully in one month it will be all gone! If you have KP, get this!! I didn't know they had a bigger bottle but I'll be getting that.

No more ashy legs

Jackie8 - 2 months ago
I’ve tried many intensive lotions and creams to help my dry skin. My legs always look like they are covered in white chalk the moment the temp drops below 60. I’ve been using this lotion for just a few days now and my ashy looking legs are gone. I use it in the morning before getting dressed and immediately after getting out of the shower in the evening. I got this on clearance at my store but would definitely pay full price to purchase this again. Yes it does smell weird at first, but the smell goes away.

I was anticipating the smell but hoping it’ll go away after a bit, which it didn’t, for me anyways. Besides that, my hand, the feeling!… it’s cringe worth, like nails to a chalkboard. Best way I can explain how it felt on my hands after putting the lotion on my arms. Had to run to wash my hand immediately and it still felt that way half of the day. If you’re very sensitive on the skin, this is not for you.

I use this lotion mainly on my armpits. This is a great deodorant. I don’t smell musty anymore even during hot days. A little goes a long way and there is a slight smell but it goes away after a few a minute or so. But to warn you, try this first on your arm or on the back of your hand because with very sensitive skin this might not suit you. My sister law couldn’t take the tingly sensation and her skin turned red.

The smell is not the selling point. If you can get past the smell, this is a great product to have in your body care regimen. It will keep you smooth, exfoliated, and glowing. Can’t beat it. I will note— I do find that I get hives if I use it shortly after shaving my legs so wouldn’t recommend doing that if you have sensitive skin!
