About the Author
Jay P. Harmon teaches AP(R) World History: Modern at Houston Christian High School in Houston, Texas. A veteran teacher, he is one of the most sought-after AP(R) history presenters in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Harmon served as a leader of the AP(R) World History evaluation program since its inception in 2002. A former member of the AP(R) World History Test Development Committee, he was an AP(R) consultant to the College Board for 17 years. His AP(R) World History website (http: //ap.harmonhistory.com) is considered an essential resource for APWH teachers around the globe.In 2016 Mr. Harmon traveled to South Korea as the guest of the Academy of Korean Studies, joining with AP(R) World History gurus Patrick Whelan and Barbara Ozuna to offer insights into the AP(R) program. In 2019 he was invited back to South Korea to mark the 15th anniversary of the Understanding Korea Project.
Mr. Harmon earned his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Louisiana State University. He began his teaching career in 1982 and has taught in public and private schools in Louisiana and Texas.
