Probably not, unless your printer cable ends in a Lightning connector, which is very uncommon.
The Apple USB‑C to Lightning Adapter is designed to connect Lightning accessories (such as some iPhones, iPads, or Lightning peripherals) to a USB‑C device. It is not a general USB adapter for printer cables.
For a printer:
If the printer cable is USB-A (rectangular) → you need a USB‑C to USB‑A adapter.
If the printer cable is USB-B (square printer connector at the printer end, USB-A at the Mac end) → a USB‑C to USB‑B printer cable or a USB‑C to USB‑A adapter will work.
If the printer supports Wi‑Fi, it's often easiest to connect it wirelessly.
A quick way to tell: look at the end of the cable that normally plugs into the computer.

I bought this because I recently upgraded my iPhone to one with USBC. I have plenty of USBC cables, but I have an older aftermarket wired head unit in my car that is not compatible with newer USBA-USBC cables. Apple Car Play would not work with the cables I owned. For whatever reason, using a lightning cable and this adapter makes the head unit and Car Play very happy. Just glad I don't have to upgrade the unit!

It constantly disconnects for no reason. I use it in my car with my iphone 15 pro. Sometimes it reconnects itself, other times I have to unplug the cord and plug it back in. Either way, I have to wait for Carplay to reboot. I thought maybe I had a defective one, so I exchanged it, but the new one does the same thing. It’s super frustrating.
