It is so easy to scratch up. The pen is too hard for children who aren’t gentle enough (aka most children)

We love this, my son loves this

I ignored the bad reviews and decided to give it a shot. Should have listened. The quality is terrible. My daughter used it very briefly one time. She wasn't rough with it, and I was shocked that there was this much damage when it dried. Don't waste your money.

The theory is awesome but it makes a mess. I bought for my preschooler for a road trip and made her lap messy. She enjoyed it though.

It’s good idea for independent play but I found myself having to supervise my toddler while using it. You have to be careful and gentle and that’s not my toddler, ruined most of the pages after first time use.

The white does come off of this a little bit with the way my toddler presses down a bit hard. But, I’ve found that if you let it fully dry before closing it up, it doesn’t come off as much. It’s still fun and educational, and my son enjoys it, so I’m not mad about the purchase.

We love this it works great. The only problem is my daughter has chewed her pen, and I need a replacement pen. I can't find a replacement anywhere, though. It has been a great activity for my four-year-old to work on at her desk while I'm working at mine, and she loves it.

Good idea, bad design. Just bought this and the same day after one use the white was coming right off…definitely NOT reusable once it gets wet…..

Good concept but the white comes off easily with one use and this is not reusable in any way.

With just one use it was apparent this was not worth the money. The pen it comes with scratches the page and then so did any other movement. I wish I had read all these horrible reviews and seen the lackluster placating response from the manufacturer. They value all our opinions but offer no solutions for our wasted money.

Pages stuck together and designs smear/scratch easy

I wish I read reviews b4 buying this as I agree with most that this is a waste of money. The dot only concept is ridiculous and my daughter got frustrated with it.

Pen is total crap, doesn't even make dots or lines. I took water pens from another toy and the artwork isn't even lined up. Do not buy

My daughter received this for Christmas and loves it! It’s a fun way for her to practice her letters. The white does come off easily if they press too hard.

This book was described as durable, but in the first 5 minutes my daughter used it, she had scapes off part of a page. It you don’t carefully dot with the pen then it scrapes the white layer off the page. That’s slow and dull and for the last page where it’s a big picture, it’s just ridiculous. On that page my husband got bored and got a wet rag to dab the page and make it faster. That apparently also messes up a big area of the page. I do not recommend this book at all. If I could return it I would.

Terrible, the water dispenser “pen” is a hard tip and digs up the white material ruining it on the first try. It’s printed off so the letters and animals don’t line up correctly. Poor quality will be returning.

Pen only made for dotting! If you try and color like you would with a crayon, the pages will peel and get ruined. Would not recommend for children under 4!

Generally like Chuckle & Roar brand but this one was a disappointment - Melissa and Doug’s water coloring is much better! The pen is stiff and intended “only for dotting” which is not easy to tell a toddler! So it scratches off on instantly when wet. Pen also leaked and ruined the cardboard. Pass on this one and get M&D water wow!

Really liked it at first but it's already peeling and pen is hard to use also the printing isn't matched up with numbers

I don't like that you have to push the top part I order for water to come out. My daughter was having a hard time but other than that it's a great activity book to keep them occupied.
