Add 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 glass (4 fl. oz.) of water every 2 hours, or as directed by physician. Dissolve completely in water. Accurately measure 1/2 teaspoon. Do not take more than the following amounts in 24 hours. Seven 1/2 teaspoons. Three 1/2 teaspoons if you are over 60 years. Do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks., For use as a soak in the bath: Dissolve 1 to 2 cups in a tub of warm water. Soak for 10 to 30 minutes as needed, or as directed by a doctor. Pat dry (do not rub) to keep a thin layer on the skin. For use as a Compress or Wet Dressing: Add sodium bicarbonate to water to make a mixture in a container. Soak a clean, soft cloth in the mixture. Apply cloth loosely to affected area for 15-30 minutes. Repeat as needed or as directed by a doctor. A: Thank you for your question, Emily P. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda got its start as a mined ore called trona. Trona is mined in the Green River Basin of Wyoming. Trona deposits were formed over four million years ago after the evaporation of great salt lakes in Wyoming, as well as in Kenya, Egypt, Venezuela, and the deserts of Central Asia. After trona is mined from these areas, the trona ore is heated to make soda ash (sodium carbonate), which is then dissolved in water. When carbon dioxide is bubbled through the solution under pressure, sodium bicarbonate forms and precipitates out of the solution. Q: Is 1-pound baking soda the same as 2-pound's? If yes, why the box is labeled "fresh for baking" on 1-pound baking soda and 'natural cleaning for your whole kitchen' on 2-pound's?

It has many other uses as well, package us small and compact, very easy to open and use and stores out if the way neatly. I have one in my kitchen cabinet under my sink for cleaning stove tops, countertops and sinks. I have another in my refrigerator to control odors. I also have one in all my bathroom under sink cabinets to clean sinks, add to cat litter when changing the litterbox, and for using on carpets to help freshen them up before vacuuming. There are so many uses that you can use Arm & Hammer baking soda. I recommend if you want to simply your life Arm & Hammer can help.
