When using this product : do not take more than the maximum dose in a 24-hour period,do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks.Directions
For Use as a Soak in the Bath: Dissolve 1 to 2 cupfuls in a tub of warm water. Soak for 10 to 30 minutes as needed, or as directed by a doctor. Pat dry (do not rub) to keep a thin layer on the skin. For Use as a Compress or Wet Dressing: Add sodium bicarbonate to water to make a mixture in a container. Soak a clean, soft cloth in the mixture. Apply cloth loosely to affected area for 15-30 minutes. Repeat as needed or as directed by a doctor. Discard mixture after each use., Add 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 glass (4 fl. oz.) of water every 2 hours, or as directed by physician. Dissolve completely in water before drinking. Accurately measure 1/2 teaspoon. Do not exceed recommended dose. See warnings. Do not take more than the following amounts in 24 hours: Seven 1/2 teaspoons. Three 1/2 teaspoons if you are over 60 years.Adults and Children 2 Years of Age and Over

A: Thank you for your question, Emily P. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda got its start as a mined ore called trona. Trona is mined in the Green River Basin of Wyoming. Trona deposits were formed over four million years ago after the evaporation of great salt lakes in Wyoming, as well as in Kenya, Egypt, Venezuela, and the deserts of Central Asia. After trona is mined from these areas, the trona ore is heated to make soda ash (sodium carbonate), which is then dissolved in water. When carbon dioxide is bubbled through the solution under pressure, sodium bicarbonate forms and precipitates out of the solution. Q: Is 1-pound baking soda the same as 2-pound's? If yes, why the box is labeled "fresh for baking" on 1-pound baking soda and 'natural cleaning for your whole kitchen' on 2-pound's?

I couldn't open a fridge without seeing a box of arm & Hammer baking soda sitting in there. It's the size that I mainly purchase because I don't use a lot of it at a given time. My only issue is that it doesn't reseal well.

Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (1 box) Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (1 cup) Borax (1 cup) Laundry bar soap (1/2 a bar or 7 ounces grated) 60 drops of scented oil Mix all ingredients and stir in a jar with a lid. Scoop 2 tablespoons for a larger loaf into the washer. Clean, fresh, custom-scented detergent for a fraction of the fancy soap store price!

Also, I sprinkle some in the commode to keep it ring free and clean. I keep a box in the refrigerator to absorb odors. I sprinkle on the carpet to freshen things up when vacuuming. There are endless uses. It's something that if affordable and does so much. A great staple. I am never without arm & hammer. Always on the grocery list. I've read you can take half a teaspoon in water daily for good health, not sure if it's for gut health or what, but I'm going to ask my doc about it 1st.
