The staple viewing window shows operators when staples are running low. Uses 3/8-inch,1/2-inch, and 9/16-inch sizes of Arrow T50 heavy duty staples..

I do wish it had come with a string of staples so you wouldn't have to buy a whole box but I also understand with the different size staples (length), it might be tricky to provide the 'best' one for each person.
