Formula Change
WHY would they change the formula and take out the ingredient that actually helped? I've tried SO many different shampoos for my dandruff and this was the only one that kept it in check. I used the new formula before realizing it was changed and wondered why my scalp was worse than it has been in forever. So disappointed and sad.

This has been a life saver for my eczema
I had an inflammed, scaley, scabby head from how bad my eczema was! This stuff felt like heaven and made it so I didn't have to use steroid creams. This would be five stars BUT... I'm hearing the formula changed and I'm heartbroken...my supply is running low. :( Please please PLEASE change it back!! I would recommend the previous formula.

Formula changed. We've been using this particular shampoo for years and it's been wonderful. The formula has changed and no longer contains zinc which is one of the main reasons I purchased for me and my kiddos hair. I will be sticking to Taraji P Henson shampoo TPH master cleanse which is more expensive in price but it's worth the extra money

Formula change
The new formula no longer has Zinc Pyrithione, which is the primary reason I purchased this product. Many other types of anti dandruff active ingredients are too harsh for curly hair types, but this shampoo with the previous formula worked excellently for my son’s hair. The bottle used to say “For Hair Types 3 & 4” but now says for all hair types. Super disappointed this product was changed. Will no longer be purchasing this.

This was the most effective psoriasis controlling shampoo and it didn’t destroy my curls. The new formula is terrible. Doesn’t do anything for the flaking. I have psoriasis patches again within a week. Not only is it ineffective now, but my hair feels like straw.

Like everyone else who has been recently reviewing, I too repurchased this previously beloved shampoo only to be totally disappointed to find the formula had been changed. I contacted As I Am about this and was informed that zinc pyrithione (ZPT) was removed in order to “meet updated global requirements.” Apparently ZPT has been banned in the EU since 2022 after it was classified as a carcinogenic ingredient. So there’s probably no hope that they will revert back to the old formula. While I agree that this new formulation pales significantly in comparison, I guess I would rather not be voluntarily absorbing a carcinogen while washing my hair.

BUT this active ingredient is no longer present in the formula, which renders this shampoo totally useless against dandruff. The biggest letdown of the year for me.
