Bought this on sale and have been using it on and off for the past 6 months. Took Windows out of S mode and uninstalled the apps I thought were unnecessary. While the updates took a while, it now runs smoothly after they were installed. Its biggest flaw is that it only has 4gb of memory, so you can't run anything really heavy on it. For basic web browsing (5 tabs or so) and light office work it runs without issue. While the colors on the screen could be more accurate, the overall quality isn't bad compared to others in the segment. The same can be said for the rest of the laptop, from the keyboard to the trackpad. All things considered, it's a great value! I would definitley recommned it to those who don't need any more than a basic Chromebook-level device.

ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. If the laptop will not power on, boot up or it's just black screen, please do the following. Please try to do a power cycle by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely, then power on. If it powers on but still a black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. If the laptop is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily until the update is applied successfully. Additionally, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until the battery is charged. Target had shipped the item rather quickley. I am real happy to see the applications run so smooth and fast. Easy to setup. I had to signup for a Microsoft account. Seems to me that all new PC's are going this direction. The only thing I don't like so much is the number pad. It's a bit of a nuisance. The numbers will appear while you're typing. I have to keep turning it off so they stop popping up. I really wish this number pad was separate from everything else. Other wise. I just love it. Thanks. Bill

Let's be real, this thing was a great value. But if you're buying this for daily use, you'd better have a bit of tech knowledge. Windows 11 S-mode was dreadfully slow and prone to crashing/freezing. I tried to justify keeping the hard drive around with the original Windows install, but it was a terrible experience. This would be a deal-breaker for the laptop, but luckily Linux exists, and Target Circle deals exist. If you combine those with this laptop, you get an extremely capable Linux machine that has great battery life and a swappable SSD - which is a rarity these days. The 1080p is a nice bonus, too, since lower-end machines still often have lower resolutions. Overall, a very fun machine that will get you further than you expect - IF you swap Windows out for Linux!

Worked for 2 weeks doesn’t power on and I can’t tell if the power adapter is working because neither the power port or adapter have led indicators to show charging or not. I bought this laptop because back in the day they made some great motherboards.
