Q: I bought a 12 inch thick mattress for the bottom before we decided to purchase these bunk beds...has anyone used a mattress this thick without issue? (I know that they recommend a 6-8 inch mattress)

    Not a regret

    Worth it. Solid piece of furniture, box came a little damaged but it’s very heavy so understandable. Doesn’t wobble when put together and holds an 8 in mattress very well. Very pleased. Easy assembly.

    Okay Bunk Bed

    Bunk bed looks nice. The shipping box had a huge hole in it and boards were damaged, but still usuable. We chose to go ahead and put the bed together. Within 48 hours, one of the top bunk bed slats broke when my 90 lb 10 yr old child climbed up and sat down on the mattress. We have reached out to Linon customer support and they have responded, so hopefully we will get a replacement board soon. Overall, we hope this is the last issue with the bed because it looks good and the kids like it.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Powell bunk bed replaced a family heirloom bed in my nieces room. We weren’t sure she would love it as much but she absolutely does. The top bunk is perfect for all of her stuffed animals and the bottom bunk is so big and perfect for a growing girl. This is great for sleepovers and I love that the ladder doesn’t sit on the floor and that it’s attached. The color is beautiful and it’s so heavy and well made!

    Quality Product

    The two of us got all the parts and pieces organized by their stickers letter, put all the screws and dowels in separate bowls,, all the parts were there. We methodically followed all directions and probably took us 4-5 hours to actually put the bunks together. They’re solid, sturdy, look great. We used our own T wrenches instead of the tiny Allen wrenches.

    Stylizh but a pain

    Okay I love the bed! The look is everything I wanted. Building it was awful. Most holes weren’t all the way drilled. Two screws weren’t usable so we had to go to Home Depot for replacements.

    Sturdy, but damaged

    This bed is cute and seems pretty sturdy, however as with other reviews it came damaged. The hassle of returning this thing is not worth it, and if not for the giant scratch it would be perfect. I have a ring doorbell and the FedEx guy handled it with care as he delivered it at least, so not sure if it was damaged in transport or what.

    Avery twin over twin bunk beds

    Despite that there was an issue with wrong parts in the original 2 boxes, the replacement came with correct parts. So I did get the 2 bunk beds I wanted after all that and I am pleased enough to still give 5 stars even though yes initially it was a pain when you want beds up by a certain time. Much better, stronger bed than whatever brand we previously had.

    STURDY

    Just to preface the review, we have had our fair share of bunk beds. After visiting many stores and having my heavy handed boys get on the displays I decided none were sturdy enough. After reading the reviews I decided to give this one a try. I am very happy with the purchase, the bunk bed is very sturdy. The engineering provides support upon support. Five stars from me because I will not have to buy another one for years to come.

    Quality could have been better

    I had budgeted a couple of days for the pieces to off-gas in the garage before bringing into the house for assembly... that wasn't long enough, I recommend budgeting at least a week or two if you're concerned about paint fumes. There's several locations where flaws in the wood weren't patched so they show through the paint. As several people have already said, the part stickers don't come off cleanly... and my usual de-sticky tactic (rubbing alcohol) doesn't do anything on this stuff; will have to buy some Goo Gone and try that at some point [last time I had this trouble, alternating between rubbing alcohol and Goo Gone worked]. I would love to know what sticky-remover other people have found successful on these stickers. The slats are just over 3/4" thick, which is more than what I've been seeing in other bedframe products... I'm hopeful this will hold up to normal teenager abuse, the 400 lb load rating was a primary condition in my purchase selection. The bed rails have intersecting holes for hardware interface, one of these had some residual wood obstructing it; I wish I'd checked for that condition before I had the other 3 bolts in that particular rail installed, had to take it all the way back out in order to get access for clearing the obstruction.

    Great bunk. Needs to air out.

    This bunk bed is sturdy and a great value. Most bunks in this price range are rated around 165 lbs per bed but this one is 250 lbs per bed. Perfect if you want to be able to read to your child in bed or use the beds for adult guests. It has an attractive finish and I love the sloped ladder with flat stairs, not round rungs that are hard on the feet. The bed was delivered promptly, well before the promised date. Assembly instructions are easy to follow. There are 2 reasons I don't give it 5 stars. The pieces are labeled with stickers that have an adhesive that is very hard to remove so sticker removal is a job in itself. Secondly, it has a strong off gas that would make it unusable immediately in my opinion. It has been up a week now and it just barely acceptable and I have kept the window open all day. Hoping for a speedy improvement.

    Practical and sturdy

    This was a great deal and the perfect bed for our toddler to transition to. She needs the full size mattress for how much she moves in her sleep. The directions were SO easy to follow and every piece of wood was labeled so there is NO confusion and it’s really hard to screw it up. It is all hex bolts and the instructions say to manually screw them and not use power tools so I did follow that.... until I screwed the slats into each bed. I was very slow but I used a drill because I was assembling alone and really wanted my daughter to be able to sleep in the bed that night. I opened it at noon, finished around 6pm but I’m a SAHM and assembled it with both my 3yr old and 11 month old home and with me. It wouldn’t have taken as long with an extra hand or no kids around;)

    Very nice quality

    I give this bed 4 stars. I had to peel a sticker off of each single part (not uncommon with this type of assembly), but the stickers were super sticky and I had to work at them in order to not make marks on the furniture pieces. We left off the vertical bar on the top bunk that was just for decoration since I liked the look without. It is a very nice looking bed and my child loves it.
